Our first product is the Rupa Labs portal. Rupa Labs makes it super simple for functional medicine practitioners to order, dispense, and receive results from 20+ lab companies in one place. It is essential infrastructure for functional medicine practitioners, turning an archaic 15 hour-a-week process into a delightful 15 min task. With Rupa, practitioners can get back to what’s important - helping people get well!

A company is only as good as its people, and so we’re looking for a Head of Marketing who can join us on this fast-paced journey.
 
The Opportunity 
At Rupa, we believe that every patient deserves to know the root cause of their health issues. The first step towards this is enabling doctors to utilize in-depth lab testing rather than simply slapping on band-aid solutions. Rupa is the connective tissue that enables patients, practitioners, and labs to work together in treating the whole patient. 
 
We're looking for an experienced Head of Marketing to design and execute a marketing strategy to supercharge our growth. Functional medicine is a nascent, fast-growing industry and you will have a ton of blank space and autonomy to help Rupa define and own the category. As the Head of Marketing you’ll report directly to the CEO, will collaborate closely with all members of the Rupa exec team, and will have the unique opportunity to accelerate an early-stage, mission-driven company.  
 
You’ll be in charge of all aspects of growth and marketing from defining high-level strategy to executing on the day-to-day tactics. This includes:
- Defining go-to-market strategy and rapidly iterating to product-channel fit.
- Defining goals and objectives, measuring success, and communicating initiatives to the rest of the team. 
- Coordinating and executing on multiple channel strategies to enable growth across all time horizons: we’ll need some short-term bets that pay off now, and we also need to plant seeds for the future!
- Creating, iterating upon, and documenting key internal materials such as our customer definition and positioning, messaging guidelines, and funnel and stakeholder mapping
- Ruthlessly prioritizing our marketing efforts and saying no when needed.
- Building out our growth/marketing team to support our growth strategy and defining and hiring any necessary functions.
Working with our product and engineering teams to reduce friction and deliver value to potential and existing customers 
 
We’re a small, close-knit, scrappy, and hardworking team, and that means we’re looking for innovative and ambitious marketers who can do more than buy Google Adwords or pay agencies to create content. You’ll work closely with the founding team to learn about Rupa Health customers past, present, and future, and deeply understand the problems we solve and value we deliver to our practitioners and patients alike. There’s a lot of unexplored territory in this space and we’ll be relying on your ingenuity and creativity to establish Rupa Health’s position in a rapidly growing and changing ecosystem. We’ll also be looking for you to provide your thoughts on the product direction and company strategy.

What we're looking for

    • At least 5-7 years of product marketing, growth, or cross-functional marketing experience. Your experience has taught you many frameworks and you know when to follow established “best practices” and when to break from them. You are ready to be the marketing leader at an organization and grow a team from scratch.
    • A strong track record of initiating, developing, and executing growth and marketing strategies for SMB / self-serve products, ideally within a startup context. You can distill order from ambiguity and excel at finding creative solutions that leverage a product’s unique attributes to drive differentiated growth. You know how to balance short-term and long-term investments. Bring your portfolio and be ready to talk about your results!
    • Leadership and team-building acumen. You inspire people to follow you on crazy journeys and you know who you need by your side and how to find them. You’ll be building a team, so the ability to define roles and recruit for them in alignment with the strategy you define will be critical to your success.
    • Willingness to get your hands dirty. You will be the first person on the marketing team and will need to be excited to not just drive strategy but also write copy, redesign the onboarding flow, or do whatever needs to be done!
    • Strong ability to prioritize, make bets, and say no. We can’t do everything, so what should we do? This is up to you to define & track. We’re looking for someone who is excited about ownership.
    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills. This role, by its nature, is cross-functional and you'll spend a lot of time working with both external (partners, customers) and internal (product, operations, design, engineering) collaborators.
    • Detail-oriented. We take pride in the product we deliver to our practitioners, patients, and labs, and the way we present ourselves to the world should reflect the same care and build the same trust.
    • Data proficient. Data helps us quickly understand the results of our experiments, so you should be able to work well in Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hubspot, and more. You can define what metrics matter and, more importantly, which ones don't.
    • A passion for functional medicine and creating the infrastructure for the future of healthcare.
Current Team
You’ll be joining our all-star core team who have 10+ years experience in the space, have won awards for their biotech research, worked hands on with chronically ill patients, built multiple multi-billion-dollar companies, and much more. The core team comes from Stanford, Wharton, Parsley Health, Lululemon, Everlywell, Coffee Meets Bagel, Square, Forward, and more. We each have very personal reasons for wanting to transform this space. We’ve experienced firsthand the impact functional medicine can have and are committed to this cause.
