Job Description

The marketing team at Skytap is small, and we’ve got some big goals ahead of us. It’s an exciting time to join – and in this role you will have impact from day one. As a crucial member of our team, you will be responsible for crafting customer-facing messaging, compelling content, and demos that prominently highlight the value of Skytap. You will need to understand how to create the right message for our personas and build content across the buyer’s journey – from high level value propositions to technical presentations. Our product management and pre- and post-sales teams will be your close allies in identifying target customer needs and pain points. It will be your mission to crisply speak to these needs and articulate deep technical concepts through concise storytelling. 
This position is an individual contributor and reports to the head of our marketing team.

Core responsibilities:

    • Communicate the value proposition of Skytap and develop the sales tools that support the selling process, including sales training and product demos
    • Build buyer personas, needs, and value frameworks, and content across the buyer’s journey
    • Create thought leadership content pieces by researching relevant topics for particular personas
    • Determine go to market campaigns to support lead generation activities
    • Develop product presentations, white papers, product guides, technical briefs, demos and other tools for our sales and partners to effectively sell Skytap
    • Design and deliver compelling demo scenarios and scripts, and train sales and partners to ensure consistent positioning
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners, and manage external agencies and vendors as required
    • Acquire knowledge on industry trends and competitors and leverage that to deliver marketing impact


    • 5-7 years experience in product marketing for highly technical products, cloud or enterprise software in high-growth B2B software company
    • Industry experience and working knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, Microsoft Azure, AWS, disaster recovery, DevOps, application development, etc. 
    • Demonstrated experience creating technical content: demos, webinars, videos, technical collateral, ROI tools, etc. 
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for both technical/non-technical audiences
    • Experience working closely with sales and partner organizations with an ability to engage deeply in customer and prospect conversations to positively impact the sales outcome. 
    • Must be a team player, collaborator, negotiator, and great communicator that thrives in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent written communication skills and detail-orientation. 
    • Desire to learn new technologies, markets, and skills along with bias toward action
