Be part of our mission to disrupt the healthcare and democratise the data driven medicine! SOPHiA is looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join the Accounting team in Lausanne.
As General Ledger (GL) Accountant you will support the Accounting and Reporting team in delivering the highest standards of group accounting and reporting. Your mission will be to prepare journal entries for month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, review and approve invoice postings and payments.
Your main tasks will be:
Participate in the accurate and timely month, quarter and year end closing under Swiss GAAP and IFRS
Prepare general ledger, payroll and fixed assets journal entries
Review intercompany accounts and reconcile balances with other affiliates
Follow through on all needed accruals, liaise with vendors when needed
Reconcile all other balance sheet accounts
Assist in preparing the VAT filing as needed
Prepare the statutory annual report including notes to the financial statements
Participate to the implementation of new corporate accounting standards and system developments
Perform the internal controls in the areas of responsibility on a monthly basis
Provide support for the audit requests
Approve invoice journal entries and ensure that all invoices are accounted correctly, comply with the company guidelines and VAT
Perform accurate control on PR and PO issued by requestor. (GL, cost center, Vendor)
Review bank entries and batch payments
Provide support to both the Accounting Manager and management as needed.
Requirements
Formal accounting qualification is required. University graduate or Brevet in accounting is a plus
5 years of experience in accounting
Fluent in English and French (Any other language will be considered a plus)
Exposure / experience with ERP systems, knowledge of Dynamics 365 is preferred
Proficient in Excel
Self-starter, proactive, deadline driven that is able to follow up issues until resolution
Strong attention to details, organized, rigorous and seeking for excellence
Curious, ready to challenge the facts and explanations
Good communication skills (both written and oral), ease of contact with international team;
Open to work in growing, fast changing environment, requiring flexibility, pragmatism and collaboration
