Be part of our mission to disrupt the healthcare and democratize the data driven medicine! SOPHiA is looking for a Director, Transformation and Operational Excellence, to join the Global RA& QA organization.
Reporting to the VP of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance, you will drive the development, assessment, recommendations and implementation of continuous improvement/reengineering initiatives to simplify processes, eliminate waste, reduce operational risks, and achieve YOY cost efficiencies in a medical device regulated industry. Additionally, you are accountable for the development of a customer-focused CI framework, toolkit and language to be deployed globally (based on LEAN, Six Sigma and TQM, and Business Process Modeling and Simulation methods methods). This includes development of a common approach, vocabulary and practices as well as training and mentoring of designated individuals and teams within the business and region .
To successfully achieve the objectives of this role you pose strong leadership skills to execute large, complex and cross-functional initiatives in order to drive cultural priorities and the behaviour of “commercial/customer experience first” through demonstration of the SOPHiA GENETICS values and leadership competencies while maintain compliance with FDA QSR, ISO 13485, ISO 27001 and IVDR/MDR regulations.
Mission
Mentor and coach teams in a fast-paced environment to achieve operational excellence; provide management support by removing barriers and facilitating conflict resolution
Partner with manufacturing/operations CI leaders to develop a comprehensive CI framework and toolkit that aligns with customer experience strategy
Maintain and evolve the CI framework and toolkit as necessary to drive vitality
Develop roles and responsibilities regarding process simplification, modeling, simulation and automation
Define and design process automation components
Plan, support and provide CI methodology training to associates globally.
Drive process documentation & tool standards to facilitate data mining, analysis, modeling and simulation; make connections to various supporting technology roadmaps
Identify and works to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful implementation and adoption of process simplification initiatives
Build capability and drives teams to conduct deep process analysis and assessment to identify a continuous backlog of opportunities across the business, regions, and functions;
Engage business units, regions, and functions through business partners and maintains accountability for CI program delivery
Leverage business partners, identify and drive global execution of performance and process improvements to realize YOY process simplification improvement targets
Track the global CI program portfolio
Partner with departments to define relevant process KPIs (including ownership of KPIs and variables that serve as KPI inputs)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business operations or a related field is required. Master’s degree highly desirable.
Lean Leader / Six Sigma Black Belt certification required (Master Black Belt preferred)
Certified Project Management Professional preferred
Certified Change Management professional (Prisca or similar) preferred
10 years’ experience with executing continuous improvement initiatives preferred
10 years’ Business Process Modeling Notation, Simulation and Automation preferred
10 years’ experience with Medical Device or In Vitro Diagnostic Devices required
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
10 years’ experience in Design and Development of medical devices required
5 years’ experience with Software Validation required
Experience with development and rollout of global continuous improvement programs
Demonstrated, significant improvement and/or process re-engineering results in a technology-forward environment
Executive communication skills; proven ability to communicate key messages to senior leadership audiences and effectively manage key stakeholders
Team communication skills: ability to connect with team members to motivate and capture hearts and minds to achieve goals
Change agent; able to lead diverse groups across an organization in implementing new programs and ideas
Proven ability to effectively build partnerships and take a relationship-based approach in working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver process efficiencies, cost savings, minimize operational risks and increase process simplification
Knowledgeable of ERP and associated technology capabilities (and limitations); SAP experience preferred
Proficient in MS Office / Office 365 / collaboration tools
Experienced in collaboration techniques and ability to facilitate partnerships
Multicultural savvy – experience working across regions, countries and cultures
Fluent in English (spoken and written) – alternate language fluency is a plus
