HOVER is based on a technology platform that we originally created for the U.S. Military Special Operations. In 2012 we began delivering three-dimensional maps derived from aerial photographs so the military troops could get a better idea of what they were walking into. Job Description

HOVER uses patented technology making it possible for anyone with a smartphone camera to create an interactive 3D model, complete with detailed measurements and powerful design features. The data produced is extremely valuable as it generates a single source of truth for the physical world allowing for more veracity throughout the home improvement and insurance processes. HOVER is looking for a Senior Manager, Operations Strategy and Growth who will generate creative and innovative uses of our unique data and operations potential.  You are excited to dive deep into understanding what makes HOVER different, and explore new markets, customers, and applications to accelerate our growth.  As part of this process, you will partner cross-functionally with key business areas including product, engineering, and sales.

As this is greenfield strategic venture exploration, you will have the opportunity and space to shape HOVER’s capabilities and long-term strategic direction.

The Operations Team supports HOVER’s growth by consistently giving our customers a high-quality product while maximizing internal efficiencies and effort.  We are also responsible for pushing the boundaries of our data and production capabilities to enable HOVER’s mission to digitize the world’s physical structures. We are a cross-cultural team, and we work closely with business partners both domestically and internationally.

You will contribute by: 

As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for ideating and exploring new growth avenues using HOVER’s data and production capabilities.  You will create new concepts, conduct external research and analysis to build business cases to prove out the validity and scalability, and test prototypes to evolve the business model.  You will collaborate with sales to deepen your understanding of customer needs, and build relationships with potential new partners and customers to continue to refine this.  In addition, you will partner with data, product, and engineering to develop the technology and product roadmap.  You will be biased towards action, drive highly visible strategic projects independently, and communicate insights to senior leadership.

Your background includes:  

  • 7+ years of professional experience in a combination of product management, operations, strategy, management consulting, or business development roles
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – can communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical senior leadership audiences
  • Experience driving cross-functional initiatives, ideally within a startup or entrepreneurial environment
  • A passion (not necessarily prior experience) for 3D, including AR / VR, and curiosity and persistence to thoroughly explore new applications in this space
  • Strong analytical abilities and comfort with large datasets
  • Proven ability to quickly climb new learning curves and add value
  • A sincere, collaborative, and empathetic personality characterized by a strong inclination to be part of a team of doers
