Vox Media is looking for a Head of Brand Licensing to build and execute our brand licensing strategy across our multiple lines of businesses and networks. This person will be responsible for leading the strategy, operations and P&L of this new line of business to create a significant new revenue source aligned with the company’s brands. This position will be based in our New York office and report into the President of Vox Media. 

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Create a roadmap and strategy for brand licensing and consumer product development opportunities across the Vox Media portfolio.
  • Identify, evaluate and determine potential partnerships with material revenue impact.
  • Plan and execute go-to-market product strategies across our portfolio of 13 networks, with an emphasis on high-value opportunities.
  • Conduct ongoing analyses of existing and prospective licensees and collaborators.
  • Source, evaluate, negotiate and close new business opportunities from start to finish.
  • Set pricing and packaging tiers. 
  • Partner with Legal on all licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate closely across the company, including with leadership across sales and marketing, data and analytics and editorial teams to align strategy, market opportunities and  brand, voice, tone etc. 
  • Create out-of-the-box solutions that bring our Editorial brands to life. 
  • Provide continuous communication to senior leadership on the status of ongoing deals, challenges and opportunities. 

 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Proven track record and deep experience in the licensing space.
  • Comfortable building a newly created revenue stream through licensed products and partnerships
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business, negotiations and closing, exceeding revenue targets and other business goals
  • Well established relationships at the senior level with retail partners and strategic thinking around the evolving retail landscape  
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable with change
