About Humio

Log everything, answer anything, in real-time

Job Description

Humio is a paradigm shift, changing the way people think about log management and systems observability. At the core of this is our people. It’s important to inspire, support, and enable one another, so we've chosen a diverse group of talented, compassionate, and fun people to work with. The work is challenging but also allows for great flexibility to prioritise off-work commitments. We’ve found this to be the perfect mix for us. If you see yourself as a great match, we’d love nothing more than for you to join us as our new SRE.

As an SRE at Humio, you’ll work closely with the rest of our engineering teams to ensure the availability and high performance our customers expect. Your primary focus will be to develop and refine our monitoring and metrics to better understand the performance of our Cloud and how it impacts the customer experience, among others by developing service level indicators and objectives. You’ll also enter our 24x7 on-call rotation to support our emergency response for our Cloud infrastructure.

The SRE team also collaborates closely with our Infrastructure Engineering team to improve Humio’s Cloud architecture and capacity planning by taking part in the design of the global Cloud architecture.

The colleague we’re looking for

Success in this role is manyfold, but most importantly you consider yourself a good communicator. You thrive at troubleshooting and mediating customer-related performance concerns and conveying potentially complex, technical information in a clear and personable fashion. Bias towards action is one of our key values, which you’re a great match for with your can-do attitude and proactive approach in tackling challenges and opportunities up front.

Moreover, solid production-level experience in supporting large, stateful, distributed Cloud systems and deployment know-how (e.g. shell scripting, Go, Java, Ruby, Python, or Scala) and appreciation of Containers (ECS, Kubernetes, Nomad) and related technologies (e.g. Docker) enable you to hit the ground running. And having previously been deep into handling Cloud-based, networking concerns, you know your way around load balancers and VPCs on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

You believe in automation of systems in reducing operational toil and appreciate how SLIs and SLOs can ensure availability and performance. We deploy our infrastructure using GitOps approaches, something you’re also comfortable with.

Please note that we only hire in EMEA for this position. Fluency in English (written and oral) is required.
