Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and experienced Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain to join our fast-growing company. MOBILion is a well-financed instrumentation company expanding our team to support the launch of our first analytical instrument product. Our best-in-class ion mobility separations technology enables the advancement of next generation bio-pharmaceutical therapeutics and will allow doctors and researchers to better understand diseases by accelerating the identification and validation of biomarkers.

The Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain will be responsible for the design transfer process from MOBILion's Product Development team to our contract manufacturing partners, establishing the supply chain, monitoring production and managing quality; ultimately ensuring the products are delivered to customer sites on time and ready to be installed. As MOBILion is a start-up company the successful candidate must be ready to dive in, roll up their sleeves and build the department from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Has complete responsibility for manufacturing and supply chain operations including development of the strategy and building the team to execute successfully
  • Responsible for all aspects of the procurement of contract manufactured instrumentation and consumable products including cost, delivery, quality, and assurance of supply
  • Responsible for delivery logistics for entire product portfolio
  • Ownership of design transfer process from Product Development to Manufacturing, and is a stakeholder in the design transfer process from Research to Product Development
  • Leads the process of establishing and qualifying new suppliers and implementing quality procedures
  • Assess, develop, and implement Manufacturing and Supply Chain policies and standard operating procedures
  • Identify, research, and implement software tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Conducts regular supplier reviews to monitor quality, cost, and performance
  • Reports to the business key performance metrics for all suppliers
  • Track contract manufacturing production schedules and capabilities and determine production planning
  • Work with product development team to implement design for manufacture best practices and identify and implement cost reduction improvements
  • Set benchmarks for cost reduction for all products and services with suppliers
  • Develop risk management strategies to maintain assurance of supply
  • Working closely with the company legal department to ensure that contracts and terms are favorable

Required Qualifications

  • At least 8 years' experience as a manufacturing, procurement, or supply chain professional
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated ability establishing and managing all business aspects of a contract manufacturer, including hands on management of the process including buying, negotiation, managing vendors and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability managing product delivery logistics in an industrial setting
  • Demonstrated management of a successful design transfer to a contract manufacturer
  • Mastery of an ERP system in the context of planning, inventory, and logistics
  • Ability to identify, diligence and negotiate supply agreements with contract manufacturers
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands on approach and willingness to jump in and contribute
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, budget, and schedule the production and delivery of products while monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regarding quality, cost, and service
  • Ability to work within the United States
  • Willingness to travel to supplier and manufacturer sites when necessary
  • Willing to relocate to the Chadds Ford, PA region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing Certification
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM®) Credentials
  • Experience with consumable reagent supply chain, relabeling and delivery
  • Experience in the analytical instrument market
  • Experience working in an ISO 13485 environment
