Job Overview:

Group Nine is currently seeking a Consumer Insights Analyst to help us understand audiences, content engagement, and cultural trends.  The Analyst will join our Sales Insights Team, where they will work closely with the advertising sales team, marketing strategy, and account strategy on client proposals, and will be responsible for crafting a sales-driven narrative based on consumer, content, and cultural insights

The Consumer Insights Analyst will be providing audience data to support the campaign pitch phase, which will include social audience affinities, content performance metrics & engagement, and general consumer market or industries research, creating data-driven visualizations and marketing collateral to showcase their work. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support Ad Sales team with audience data to pitch advertisers on the Group Nine consumer across all of our brands and media portfolio
  • Surface impactful or compelling results from internal custom research studies to highlight new and emerging consumer trends and sentiments that present value for marketers
  • Leverage 1st and 3rd party data to uncover insights relevant to specific advertiser categories (i.e. beauty, retail, CPG) and brand partners
  • Partner on custom research studies, collaborating with other team members to develop surveys, program studies for delivery, analyze incoming study results, and package insights and results into reports and marketing materials
  • Update monthly and quarterly reports on content performance and audience trends both within Group Nine Media properties and across advertiser categories

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, economics, math, psychology, or another quant/analytical field preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience (or academic equivalent) in a data-driven or advertising-focused media role
  • Comfortable working in a data-driven environment built around media, tech, advertising, and market research
  • Ability to interpret data, tell a story, provide actionable insights, and use text and/or visual displays to illustrate ideas
  • Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote proficiency
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn and face challenges, creative and critical thinking skills
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Desired Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, an ability to take complex information and simplify it for broader audiences
  • Organizational skills and an eye for developing intelligent workflows and process
  • High attention to detail, ability to organize and maintain data sets securely
  • Demonstrates ability to be strategic, analytical, and tactical
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Experience with data visualization tools a plus
  • Experience with online research & analytics tools including Comscore, Nielsen, Kantar, Facebook Analytics, YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, CrowdTangle, MOAT, DoubleVerify, etc. a plus
