Job Description

We are looking for a talented leader to guide and build on the success of our Field Engineering / Forward Deployed Engineering team, ensuring that every customer has a successful relationship with Replicated. This team is laser-focused on helping best-in-class software companies use Replicated's platform to package and distribute their cloud-native applications for on premises customers. We're a small, growing startup so roles on this team tend to be a mix of engineering, solutions architecture, product thinking, and something kind of resembling sales.
 
Individual Contributors on this team are primarily responsible for ensuring customers understand our offerings and ultimately have a successful deployment of Replicated. As their primary guide for the initial implementation of our platform in shipping a customer's product, FDEs are tasked with becoming the trusted technical advisor to customers through the sales process and representing their voice in planning roadmaps.

As the Forward Deployed Engineering team grows, you will help to document our processes and knowledge to enable effective and efficient redundancy of best practices. This role is perfect for a highly organized, highly communicative candidate with prior customer-facing experience in the DevOps ecosystem.

What you'll do:

    • Coach, mentor and grow our team via 1x1s, staff meetings, and all hands presentations
    • Continue to hire into our team of talented Forward Deployed / Field Engineers
    • Be a resource to team members to help with development of both technical and customer-facing skillsets
    • Develop and own strategic objectives and initiatives related to customer onboarding and accelerating technical wins
    • Build and enhance employee onboarding and enablement tooling and processes
    • Cultivate and support a collaborative team culture
    • Coordinate across teams at Replicated including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success

Other things we're looking for

    • Experience managing Field Engineering teams where the majority of the work is hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes
    • Passion for OSS and technical evangelism
