About Earnest Research

Earnest Research is a data innovation company driven to change the way professionals understand consumer and business behavior.

Job Description

Earnest Research is a VC-backed data innovation startup driven to change the way professionals understand consumer and business behavior. Working with world-class data partners, we transform raw data into a source for business and investment professionals to ask better questions so they can make better decisions. We believe, in the right hands, data has the power to change the way we work.

Earnest Research is seeking a UX Designer to join our Client Platform Team, whose mission is to build a web-based product that empowers our clients and transforms how they make decisions. In this role, you will be joining a cross-disciplined group of software engineers, product managers and designers and working closely with stakeholders to use data to answer real-world business questions. A lean team focused on growth and impact, you’ll have the opportunity to influence design and implementation details, making an immediate impact on our products. Beyond the day-to-day, you will be joining a strong technology community with training and support to continue developing your skills.

  • Work with the VP of Design to develop a user experience strategy at the company.
  • Use design tools (Figma, Whimsical, etc.) to create comprehensive experience flow specifications, with an emphasis on capturing specific user flows, edge-cases, and paths, both happy and unhappy.
  • Organize and conduct research projects alongside product and design teams to gather user requirements and feedback.
  • Iterate actively with prototypes at all levels of design fidelity, informed by measures both qualitative and quantitative, as well as business goals.
  • Collaborate with product designers to bring thoroughly considered user experiences to a high fidelity, and continually iterate once delivered to users
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly in written, verbal, and visual forms to develop consensus around the optimal path for design.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in creating and implementing user experience design.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and conduct user research projects.
  • Proficiency with core user experience design methodologies such as sketching, wireframing, and storyboarding.
  • The flexibility to design in low fidelity, or adapt high fidelity templates, choosing the most efficient and responsible process for the job at hand.
  • A proactive approach to work, well organized, with an ability to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience visualizing complex workflows and communicating those to other teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills — you’ll be collaborating with others and presenting your work regularly.

  • 100% company paid medical plan options (additional medical, dental and vision plans available too!)
  • 401K retirement plans with employer matching
  • Flexible and generous time off
  • Health & Fitness Reimbursement Program
  • Generous Parental Leave Policy
  • Pre-tax savings plans for public transportation and parking expenses

Earnest Research is an equal opportunity employer, and we encourage people with a diverse range of backgrounds to apply.
