Job Description

OpenSpace is a computer vision company transforming construction and real estate development. While our tech is quite sophisticated under the hood, our focus is on simple, fast and easy-to-use products.  

Our core product combines off-the-shelf 360 degree cameras and AI to make it incredibly easy to capture a complete visual record of any space, share it via the cloud, and manage the site without having to physically be onsite. Put another way: our tech is one part teleporter, one part time machine. We vastly simplify site management by replacing error-prone, highly incomplete, highly manual reporting workflows with an easy-to-use, access-from-anywhere ground truth record of the site.

To date, our customers have used our platform to capture over 2 billion square feet of active construction projects, across thousands of sites, in dozens of countries. And all this data is powering our next-generation AI analytics tools that automatically track and analyze sites for our customers -- bringing new levels of objectivity to construction and replacing unreliable and time consuming manual workflows.

We are well-funded ($33m raised to date from funds like Menlo Ventures and Lux Capital) and we are a team that combines people with deep, first hand experience in construction with the best AI PhDs and engineers (MIT, Stanford, CalTech, Berkeley, Penn) out there.

Founded in 2017 by experienced entrepreneurs and engineers with several successful exits under their belts, OpenSpace is growing rapidly. The pandemic has kicked the company into hypergrowth, as the need for our solution has become even more obvious to the market.

The Role

We are seeking a driven, strategic, and creative professional to lead our partnership strategy and build the OpenSpace ecosystem.  

As the head of our partnership efforts you will be responsible for defining and driving structured programs to drive revenue, expand our market reach, and strengthen our solution. The role is part strategist, part deal maker, and full get-it-done doer. You will be a key part of the marketing leadership team and will ensure that partnership goals are set appropriately, communicated clearly, and relentlessly executed. You will own the OpenSpace partner ecosystem and use data, creativity, and business acumen to uncover opportunities and drive business results.

The ideal candidate has 3-10 years of experience in strategic partnerships and/or business development, has executed transactions, and has a strong foundation in financial analysis. You have an in-depth understanding of structuring, launching, and managing successful revenue-driving partner relationships. You have experience in construction and real estate, understand the contech landscape, and are able to engage a broad spectrum of partner types. Responsibilities (What you will do)

  • Head up partner ecosystem strategy and drive programs to support three key goals:
    • Revenue: Work with sales to develop partnerships that drive revenue and accelerate deal flow within our core markets.
    • Reach: Work with product and sales to engage complementary solution providers to extend our reach by gaining access to large user bases or rounding-out our solution offering to serve more users.
    • New Markets: Work with executive leadership to develop business cases for new markets (e.g. finance, insurance, etc.) and engage partners to pilot and validate opportunities.
  • Establish a structured program for partner engagement with clear goals, metrics, processes and criteria for success. 
  • Use data to identify opportunities, set priorities and inform investments. Build and manage the partner dashboard and pipeline.
  • Define and optimize monetization models and negotiate partnership agreements.
  • Develop and manage joint business plans with key partners and track against targets.
  • Maintain key executive relationships with partners and confidently represent OpenSpace at events.
  • Contribute to marketing and overall company strategy.

Requirements (What we want to see in you)

  • 6 years of professional experience, with at least 3+ years experience within B2B business development, corporate development, strategic partnerships, consulting, or similar field.
  • Experience in construction, real estate or industrial markets.
  • Strong experience and understanding of SaaS technology and SaaS business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, track, and manage multiple projects with a broad range of internal and external constituents simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of handling complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Track-record of outstanding academic and professional achievement.
  • Excellent analytical skills—able to translate quantitative and qualitative inputs into actionable strategic plans.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required—MBA a plus.
  • Understanding of the construction value chain is a plus.
