The Research Vector Production team is an integral part of the Encoded research engine. Our main focus is to provide high quality vectors to support research from drug candidate discoveries to preclinical studies.

We are seeking a driven and highly organized Senior Research Associate to join our Research Vector Production team. A qualified candidate will be responsible for performing and improving recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) characterization assays. This individual will collaborate with peers across functions in Quality Control, Process Development and Analytical Development departments for the transfer and development of RVP assay capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform, troubleshoot, and optimize AAV characterization assays including but not limited to qPCR, ddPCR, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISAs, CE-SDS, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, SEC-HPLC, RP-HPLC and reporter gene-based cell assays using mammalian cell lines
• Perform qualification of assay controls, standards, and references
• Maintain complete, contemporaneous, and accurate records of all work performed
• Author and revise standard operating procedures
• Work on multiple projects to meeting departmental/organizational goals

• Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or other relevant disciplines in life sciences AND 3 or more years of industry experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or other relevant disciplines in life sciences AND 5 or more years of industry experience
• Strong knowledge and experience with cell-based assays, ELISAs, qPCR/ddPCR, SDS-PAGE, CE-SDS, SEC-HPLC, RP-HPLC, etc.
• Experience in writing SOPs, developmental and technical reports
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills, both written and oral
• Highly motivated, flexible, independent, with ability to work in a group setting and advance team/departmental goals
• Strong organizational, technical, and multitasking skills
• Familiarity with basic statistical analysis tools and applications
• Experience/knowledge of a wide range of analytical equipment with the ability to troubleshoot issues
