Job Description
We are looking for an expert in IIIV design to join our core engineering team!
What you'll do:
- Responsible for design of leading edge IIIV devices including high power lasers and optical amplifiers in the O- and C-band
- Understand the fab process to take in to account design-process interactions and drive layout
- Own tape outs of novel IIIV device structures to improve power, efficiency and reflection tolerance
- Work with test team to define and develop testing for new devices
- Define test plan for devices and circuits and assist with execution as needed
- Own the development of novel IIIV epitaxy for the development of high power, high efficiency, industry defining devices.
What you have:
- Demonstrated experience with design and development IIIV epitaxy, devices and structures for high power CW applications
- Detailed knowledge of the physics of IIIV devices
- Expertise in the design of IIIV lasers and SOA for O- and C-band
- Expert at defining and executing grounds up IIIV device design flows
- Demonstrated experience with several successful design, tape-out, test cycles
- Experience with back reflection and stray light management strategies
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science or related technical discipline
Nice to have:
- Experience with designing devices that are currently in production
- Experience in optical simulation software to evaluate laser and SOA designs
- Experience in qualifying high volume IIIV components
- Hands on experience with the packaging of IIIV devices
