Software Development Engineer- Infrastructure and Developer Experience Team

Responsibilities:

  • Write infrastructure as code to provision, configure and manage life cycle for developer infrastructure.
  • Write tools to deploy Thoughtspot for internal/external customers on public and private cloud environments.
  • Develop continuous integration test framework libraries.
  • Develop tools to build Thoughtspot micro-services across a host of platforms.
  • Develop tools to manage Thoughtspot code repositories.
  • Develop tools for monitoring Thoughtspot private physical and virtual cloud infrastructure.
  • Educate the company about best practices around infrastructure, automation, CI, and CD. Document processes and tools used to operate CI/CD workflows at thoughtspot.
  • Design and architect engineering infrastructure development with latest cloud-native technologies like Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Public Clouds, etc.
  • Design and develop tools and frameworks using modern programming languages like Go, Python, NodeJs, Terraform, and Ansible, etc.
  • Design and develop various aspects of Thoughtspot product such as deployment, management, and cost optimization techniques for Machine Instances on Public Clouds such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Build infrastructure and cloud monitoring solutions using cloud native tools such as elasticsearch, fluentd, kibana, prometheus, grafana, cloudwatch, etc.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience in engineering infrastructure development with latest cloud-native technologies like Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Public Clouds, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of deployment, management and cost optimisation techniques for Machine Instances on Public Clouds (must have - AWS, good to have - GCP, Azure)
  • Working experience on virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Linux KVM, etc.), deployment and VM management
  • Intermediate to Expert level hands-on scripting using one of Java, Python or Go, along with Database skills in MongoDB, NoSQL, Cassandra, etc.
  • Must have built at least one such Product, Framework or Service Hands-On, and led a small team of engineers technically in the effort
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes, like Jenkins2.0, Ansible, Groovy scripting, etc. is a plus Familiarity with Distributed Systems and/or any Frontend technologies to build simple and intuitive GUI for internal DevOps services.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools like Nagios or similar is a plus.
  • Exposure to logging frameworks like Kibana, Logstash, etc., is a plus.
