Job Description


At eGenesis, we aspire to deliver safe and effective human transplantable cells, tissue and organs utilizing the latest advancements in genome editing.


The successful Emyrbologist will efficiently perform all required procedures assigned by ICBiotec, an eGenesis company. This person will participate in research following the company’s priorities and increase its productivity in the area of assisted reproductive technologies in pigs.


  • Execute research priorities, laboratory activities, and other scientific functions (as directed) in a manner that is consistent with operating procedures.
  • Perform and assist in day to day laboratory processes, which include: porcine in vitro embryo production, oocyte/embryo handling and evaluation, and micromanipulation for animal cloning.
  • Follow SOPs and maintain highest quality of standards in performing daily laboratory duties.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment necessary to performing designated laboratory tasks.
  • Run trials, and experiments as designated by supervisor.
  • Provide general support and upkeep of laboratory including maintaining stock of media, reagents, solutions, and aliquots.
  • Provide assistance in support of scientific activities, primarily in vitro embryo production in porcine.
  • In coordination with supervisor develop and update reports and documentation regarding laboratory processes and results.
  • Participate in department, division, and other meetings as requested.
  • Stay current on research in related field and implement new technologies.
  • Learn about new laboratory processes and equipment operations.
  • Review professional publications.
  • Document laboratory processes, equipment operations and staff training on new laboratory processes.
  • Promote and adhere to safety in workplace.
  • Instruct workers to follow safe practices and enforce health and safety regulations.  Promote safety awareness and ensure workers are trained or certified as required.  Correct unsafe acts and conditions and ensure equipment is properly maintained.  Report and investigate all accidents/incidents.  Inspect own area and take remedial action to minimize or eliminate hazards.  Complete required training assignments, forms, and other paper work.
  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned.


  • M.S. or Ph.D. in relevant area with 3+ years of relevant experience in in vitro embryo production lab in an academic or industry setting
  • Knowledge and expertise with a variety of techniques related to livestock in vitro embryo production, oocyte/embryo micromanipulation, and animal cloning
  • Knowledge and expertise in media preparation, laboratory equipment use and maintenance
