As we’re now expanding from Denmark and Sweden to California, we need to add more talented people to the team to make sure we have the infrastructure in place to keep up with our growth. We are looking for someone who can take on the position as Sous Chef and is driven by this mission.
What you’ll do
This position will be based in our kitchen & warehouse facility and you will be responsible for managing all the activities in the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, portioning, and packaging.
Furthermore, your responsibilities will include:
Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order.
Receive fresh produce and inspect the quality prior to acceptance.
Verify daily/weekly requisitions for supplies, dry goods, and produce.
Prepare all dishes following recipes and yield guides.
Monitors waste and overproduction as well as utilizes leftovers by ensuring proper rotation and quality control.
Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned at the start and end of the shift to adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices & Health Standards
Utilize established company control procedures for food cost, labor cost, and food quality
Assist Kitchen Managers in day to day operations.
Assist Kitchen Managers in formulating and testing new recipes.
Assist Packaging Manager in portioning and packing of food products.
Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparations, recipes, and presentations in conjunction with Simple Feast (SF) specifications
Assure kitchen personnel are trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices

You will report Full Time to Kitchen Manager.
Who you are
We believe you are a person that has 2- 3 years Sous Chef experience and you share our enthusiasm for delicious plant based meals as well as our mission: Creating the future of food.
High School or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred
experience in a culinary leadership role preferred
Food Safe Handling certification preferred.
Ability to bend, twist and stand for an extended period of time
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
