Job Description

At Fictiv, we’re inspired every day by our customers and teammates

You’ll have the opportunity to interact with some of the most renowned companies on the planet who make physical products loved by millions. You’ll be working with some of the highest quality and most talented vendors who produce what seems impossible to produce. You’ll be surrounded by a wicked awesome team (think PhDs, Ironmans, artists) who are obsessed with winning the hearts and minds of product engineers and designers who are literally building the future (think autonomous cars)... today.

Impact in this Role

Your role as Fictiv’s Sourcing Specialist will focus on the intelligent sourcing, qualification, and distribution of work to our Manufacturing Partner network (they’re more than just Suppliers). At Fictiv, we believe in creating the world’s premier platform for hardware manufacturing, and you’ll be playing a critical role in making that happen.

In this role, you’ll be using your educational background (degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or Engineering) and experience in supplier sourcing, qualification, onboarding, and development to manage Fictiv’s globally distributed Manufacturing Partner network. We win everyday because of the competitive advantage that our Platform, People, and Partners provides to our customers.

You’ll forecast Fictiv’s capacity needs by service offering based on Fictiv’s demand forecasts and correspondingly develop onboarding requirements to ensure we are able to meet customer demand while maintaining a healthy distribution of spend across each of our onboarded Manufacturing Partners. You’ll oversee our APAC network of partners that work on 3D printing, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding and more. Where necessary, you’ll use your negotiation skills to onboard strategic partners and implement terms to foster long term alignment of business goals.  And as business needs dictate, you may act as a trusted partner to key customers, helping them source for components and subassemblies on their Bill of Materials beyond our core offering of custom mechanical components.

You’ll work cross-functionally with our Program Management team to develop strategic sourcing plans for a very limited subset of key customers programs, Commodity Management team to define the logic for distribution of work to our Manufacturing Partners, our Product Management team when bringing on new service offerings to ensure supply readiness, our Product Management and Business Operations & Systems teams to define requirements for the systems we use to qualify, onboard, provide performance feedback to, and distribute work to our Manufacturing Partners, with our Costing & DFM and International Logistics teams to develop logic for landed cost calculations as an input into our automated platform quoting, and with our Quality team to develop Manufacturing Partner qualification criteria that optimize the likelihood of our Manufacturing Partners delivering products on-time and to specification.

Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for ensuring we are building tight knit partnerships with our Manufacturing Partners throughout Asia and that we have the right mix, capacity, and capabilities of supply to meet and exceed customers technical, lead time, and cost requirements. You’ll manage the Approved Vendors List (AVL) and drive Supplier (Manufacturing Partner) Business Reviews (SBR) to ensure continuous improvement in Manufacturing Partner performance, inclusive of cost, quality, supply, technology, service, environment and ethics.

You will report to the Regional Strategic Sourcing Lead.
