POSITION SUMMARY
We are actively seeking a FIELD SALES TRIALS AGRONOMIST to join our rapidly growing organization. This new position will help manage our expanding commercial soybean variety trials, interacting with cooperators as well as third party trial providers. This role will also leverage insights from those trials to assist growers and channel partners to better place and manage our products.
YOU WILL:
(ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Coordinate with grower cooperators and third-party service providers to plant, manage and analyze commercial soybean trials
- Observe products in varied trial locations to develop placement and management insights
- Recommend competitive checks for trials
- Collaborate with agronomists and plant breeders on commercial product advancement decisions
- Provide product information to sales and marketing materials (ex. tech sheets, product guides, videos)
- Provide distributors and growers insights to successfully place and manage our products
- Maintain a strong grower and customer rapport, while supporting a strong company image to customers
- Assist distributors and partners in resolving grower service calls involving product performance and agronomic issues
- Serve as a product expert to support business development efforts
YOU HAVE:
(COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS)
- Certified Crop Advisor certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel extensively domestically
- Strong written and oral communications skills – both one-to-one and presenting to groups
- Product sales competency, with preference for seed and/or crop chemistry sales
- Agronomic scouting and crop diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of field plot design and experimental procedure
- Ability to handle prolonged standing and walking in field setting
- May be required to occasionally lift up to 50 LBS
EDUCATION:
- A B.S. Degree in agronomy or related ag field
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years’ experience
- Production experience across multiple crops, with an initial focus on soybeans
- Experience working with identity-preserved specialty output grain production
SOFTWARE/SKILLSET:
- Microsoft Outlook and Office environment
OTHER:
