Job Description

As a valued member of our organization, you will be a part of ensuring that our customers share the same wonderful experience.The Production Planning Supervisor is responsible for verifying, filtering, auditing, uploading, and printing bill of material documents in an accurate and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but not limited to, the following;

Demand planning:

  • Estimate breakdown by order type
  • Understand needed output and number for hours/days for projected number of orders
  • Compile information on upcoming demand across various sales streams by coordinating with departments at HQ, and forecasting based on past data
  • Communicate upcoming demand and priorities, including information on upcoming deadlines, to Fulfillment Center departments
  • Coordinate scheduling with Fulfillment Center departments to determine best strategy for meeting goals

Reporting and output tracking: 

  • Collate daily line accomplishment reports, check veracity and summarize data to a single report for all concerned parties.
  • Regularly monitor  aggregate output to evaluate tracking vis-a-vis goals, and recommend any potential adjustments needed in order to put the schedule on track.
  • Monitor stock position of products and regularly maintain reports on  late/short receipts or any hold orders until those items are finally complete on-site.
  • Supervise and develop production planning associates.
  • Work with WMS to keep track on inventory to determine what is in stock and coordinate with Inventory Control Department status of all needed items.
  • Create demand schedule, subtracting on hand stock from overall demand to determine production needs
  • Work with production and inventory to determine which SKUs and what quantity can be built and come out with a production schedule for every shift. 
  • Review scheduling requirements and ensure products are processed with in scheduled deadlines and produce weekly/monthly reports as required
  • Communicate with product and fulfillment  teams on any issues pertaining schedules and product specifications. 
  • Evaluate and communicate when box SKUs are out of stock, and coordinate reassignment with product and development teams
  • Provide support with the introduction of new products to ensure operational planning requirements are completed on time and within budget 
  • Ensure timely, full and accurate communication with all relevant departments on any factors which impact on delivery dates, commitments to customers, quality etc.
  •  Review material requirements prior to the start of production/fulfilment; works with Inventory, Receiving , purchasing and quality departments to identify requirements for meeting production start dates.
  • Point of contact for coordinating fulfillment of all purchase orders; reviews material availability; coordinates shipment of product; ensures all required documents are provided.
  • Ensures minimal excess inventory of bulk and finished goods through monitoring of yields and coordinating with client services for customer approval to ship when excess product is produced.
  • Continually looks for ways to improve processes within planning; provides recommendations for process improvement across departments that support operational goals for customer service, quality, reduction in cost and innovation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 2 year experience in Production Planning  warehouse environment.

 

  • EQUIPMENT
  • Pick a light system, print apply equipment, conveyors, photo eyes, forklifts, Tape gun, Scale, Box cutter, Label machine, Air pillow machine.
  • PHYSICAL DEMAND
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 40-70 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision.
