Position Overview:

Bulletproof is looking for a Contract Manufacturing Manager to join a cutting-edge rapidly growing supply chain organization that is focused on our mission of "creating products that radically improve lives."

This position is responsible for managing the supplement contract manufacturers within Bulletproof’s finished good supply network.  The contract manufacturing manager position is highly cross functional and will interact with marketing, sales, R&D, finance, procurement, and production planning groups on a frequent basis.  The contract manufacturing manager will manage and coordinate activities that occur at Bulletproof’s supplement contract manufacturers and be responsible for identifying long-term supply partners for these categories while supporting significant innovation sourcing initiatives.  This position will work with a senior operations leader on contract negotiations and strategic partnerships.  The contract manufacturing manager will participate as a core team member on key projects to ensure project deliverables that are the responsibility of the Co-Manufacturing team are delivered both timely and, in a way, to enhance revenue and profit for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

    Coordinate with each functional area on a project specific basis to ensure timely execution of Bulletproof deliverables to co-manufacturer, including required approval documents, graphics, packaging, ingredients, equipment, specifications, production plans, shipping schedules, sales samples, etc.
    Manage supplement co-manufacturer relationships, which will include project management, long- term capacity planning, new item commercialization, continuous improvement, and cost savings.
    Develop an effective partnership and build strong rapport with plant management of all assigned co-packer facilities
    Coordinate QA efforts with R&D and plants involving new product launches, trials, and installations; responsible for co-manufacturer performance in new product startups and production.
    When needed, engage in the sourcing of raw supplement materials.
    Ensure KPI’s are met with respect to production timing, product fill rate, production waste, reporting of raw material usage and inventories following production
    Seek out suppliers, or suppliers with new and evolving capabilities. Present findings to cross functional teams.
    Support innovation initiatives within the co-manufacturing group through new supplier evaluation, supplier set up.
    Develop keen understanding of production and component costs and make recommendations for raw material volume and cost commitments.
    Interface with production planning, quality, research and development, sales, marketing and to ensure Bulletproof products that are co-manufactured meet the needs of consumer and Co-Manufacturing internal customers.
    Facilitate process development and improvement within Co-Manufacturing to ensure compliance with requirements established by finance, quality assurance, legal and other internal customers.
    Track co-manufacturing cost savings initiatives with these co-manufacturers.
    Insure all the above are delivered on time, within budget and within spend targets.
    Trouble shoot issues (e.g., production scheduling, pricing, shipping/receiving) with co-packers as they arise.
    On a regular basis, report status of projects to marketing, R&D and executive team.

Qualifications:

    5 years co-manufacturing or strategic sourcing in health and wellness/consumables, supplements strongly preferred
    Bachelor’s degree
    High degree of business ethics and accountability
    Strong business and financial acumen
    Exception interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects- prioritization, planning and task delegation.
