JOB OVERVIEW
uShip is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a full time SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot corporate network infrastructure.
  • Support corporate and remote offices as well as highly available cloud environments.
  • Responsible for security patching and updating of servers on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Responsible for backups, documentation, and research.
  • Available to participate in on-call rotation.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, or as needed (on a limited basis) to resolve problems or complete projects.
  • Reports to the IT Services Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • 7-8 years of experience as a system/network administrator working with Linux and Windows and/or corporate network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless).
  • Experience with complex configuration of O365, Active Directory and Google Suite.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and technologies, AWS preferred (VPC, EC2, ALB, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems and software that are unfamiliar.
  • Solid understanding of networking and firewall concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware, SANs, scripting languages and iptables.
  • Desire to learn about new or existing technology.
  • Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner.
  • Able to work within a small team and independently on projects.
  • Serve as IT Services support escalation point.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language i.e. Python, PHP, Shell, Perl, Batch, etc.
  • Cisco NGFW and/or Palo Alto firewalls experience a plus.
  • Cisco Meraki wireless administration experience a plus.
  • Exchange, WDS, IIS and WSUS experience helpful.
  • Okta or other IDP services experience a plus.
  • MS AzureAD, InTune/Autopilot experience a plus.
  • Certifications (CCNA, AWS SA, LPIC, VCP, MCSA, etc.) a plus.
