Job Description

The Opportunity:
As an Information Technology Director, you will take over oversight of Picarro’s IT infrastructure, overall IT security, manage our systems administrators and help desk teams. You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Picarro’s data and systems. Additionally, you will maintain our corporate security posture and compliance and be responsible for conducting and participating in security audits. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and a supportive team player while having a keen understanding of technology measuring risk in both technology and business processes.
• Manage the IT Infrastructure and Help Desk teams.
• Develop and implement information security, change management and disaster recovery programs in accordance with organizational information security standards.
• Maintain awareness and keep the organization compliant with the latest regulatory/legislative guidance.
• Establish IT Infrastructure, service, and security KPIs and SLAs. And Maintain security policies and procedures.
• Continuous monitoring of Picarro’s security posture and immediately address any intrusion or incident.
• Identify, recommend, and implement new technology solutions.
• Conduct risk assessments of projects and our infrastructure against applicable controls.
• Identify and provide the appropriate security controls for projects and assist project teams in delivering those controls. Administer and maintain network security systems such as Firewalls, IDS, A/V and incident management Leads forensic/security investigations under the direction of legal and human resource departments
• Conduct vulnerability assessments (network, server, databases, application, etc.) and drive remediation
• Define and validate system security requirements. Implement secure systems/standards using ISO 27001 and ISO 17799/27002
• Audit and monitor IT Security Best Practices including: Firewall/Network Design, Anti-Virus Strategy, Platform Maintenance, Intrusion Detection Monitoring, System access ID and logon procedures and policies, file transfer protocols, procedure and practices, and identify and manage remediation efforts on vulnerabilities
• Provide guidance and advocacy regarding prioritization of infrastructure investments that impact security
• Develop, publish and maintain comprehensive company-wide information privacy and security strategy, plans, policy, procedures, and guidelines
• Ensure departments consider information security risks in both ongoing and planned operations
• Maintain relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and other related agencies
• Work with outside consultants as appropriate on required security and risk audits
• Create selection criteria for vendor products, tools and services related to information security
• Respond to security questionnaires, lead security audits, and effectively communicate the company’s security controls as needed.
• Lead our security incidence response team.
• Promote information security awareness within the organization.
• Experience working with a high degree of autonomy and managing the workload of others with the ability to deliver to tight timescales.
• Proven experience in Information Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, Change Management and Disaster Recovery.
• Experience and understanding of security technologies such as SIEM, VPN, IPS/IDS, Proxies, Encryption, ACLs, SSO, Vulnerability and Configuration Management, endpoint protection, mobile technologies, removable media controls, cloud security, virtualization, firewalls, WAF, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, code analysis technologies and methodologies, and network security and interconnectivity.
• Experience with Information Security Frameworks (e.g. ISO, ISF, NIST, SOC 2, HITRUST etc.)
• Team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines and without direct supervision
• The individual must be strategic yet “hands-on.”
• 10+ years of experience in IT, IS Security, Compliance, IT/IS risk or related field
• Information security qualifications (CISM, CISSP, CRISC) are preferable
• BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
