Job Description
Responsible for leading the path for our expansion across Europe. As the VAT refund space is analog and heavily regulated, you will be working closely with authorities, establishing and maintaining positive relationships, and working in tandem with governments to launch Pie.
What you’ll be working on:
- Design and execute the strategy for regulatory engagement and compliance
- Lead oversight of EU-level regulation affecting our industry
- Participate in shaping regulation at EU level through forums, conferences, stakeholder engagement and official regulatory submissions to ensure an enabling and innovative regulatory space for the industry
- Lead the identification, engagement and management of stakeholders on, political and national level, as well as in associations
- Work in close collaboration with the commercial, engineering and accounting team to ensure a streamlined market entry into new European markets
- Build executiverelationships with local government leaders, policy makers, and regulatory agencies, meeting with them on a regular basis to create lasting relationships that help to establish trust, mitigate potential obstacles, and convey the company's priorities and strategies
- Establish executive relationships with trade, civic and business organizations within region to advance efforts and sustain efforts in new communities
- Partner with organizations, educational institutions and similar groups to align Pie’s social mission in tourism, health, and the environment to enhance community outreach initiatives
You’re offering these qualifications and experience:
- 10+ years experience in local, state, and federal government affairs, political campaigns, advocacy or similar (ideally in the Nordics)
- Government affairs know-how with experience leading or working at a high level in government arenas, particularly within city governments
- Strong analytical skills, sharp problem solver and ability to get things done
- Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working in fast-paced entrepreneurial environments
- Excellent network with the ability to liaise with several stakeholders and partners across Europe
- Problem-solver with self-starter mentality, always looking to improve processes to enable the team to run more smoothly
- Proven work experience, network and success in the policy sector (political institutions, agencies or corporates)
- Fluency in written and spoken English a must.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and managerial level of strategic thinking
- Confidence in engaging senior and political stakeholders
- Hands-on and eager to both develop and execute strategy

- Fintech/payments experience
- Interest and experience working within the technology industry/start-up environment in tourism/retail
