Job Description

We have a position for a compiler engineer to work on the Swift compiler auto-differentiation features, introspection, and ML toolchain advancements. This position includes the supporting PassiveLogic engineering efforts, and well as contributing to managing the company efforts towards the larger Swift and S4TF open source communities.

What you will be doing

  • Developing Swift auto-differentiation features
  • Developing Swift introspection features
  • Driving company heterogeneous compute strategy and toolchain to target GPU, TPU & NPU devices
  • Helping collaborate with the broader open source community.  

You must have

  • Strong understanding of compilers, toolchains, and compiler engineering
  • Strong understanding of differentiable computing and auto-differentiation 
  • Experience with LLVM based toolchains
  • Experience working on open source projects.
  • Ability to manage software components, and source control and develop a test harness. 
  • Ability to contribute individually, architecturally, and in group programming
  • B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related field

You should have

  • A working understanding of Swift or Swift for Tensorflow (S4TF)
  • A strong understanding of the Swift SIL
  • Versed with GPU, NPU, TPU compute targets

It’s helpful to have

  • An understanding of AI toolchains, MLIR, XLA, OpenCL, CUDA, TVM, etc
  • Experience with computational Simulation methods, physical modeling, or statistical analysis
  • Versed with Linux OS, ideally in limited resource environments
  • Versed with MacOS and MacOS toolchains.
