Job Description

AEye develops advanced vision hardware, software and algorithms that act as the eyes and visual cortex of autonomous vehicles. Since its demonstration of its solid state LiDAR scanner in 2013, AEye has pioneered breakthroughs in intelligent sensing. The company is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and backed by world-renowned investors such as Kleiner Perkins, Intel, Airbus, Subaru, LG Electronics, Hella, and more.

AEye is looking for a highly motivated Senior Manufacturing Quality Technician. The individual will be expected to ensure product and process meets the required quality criteria and standards.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducts incoming inspection of key optical, mechanical, and electrical components and sub-assemblies
  • Supports incoming functional tests for PCBA of AQL sampling plan
  • Assists Supplier Quality in the generation of incoming inspection status report for distribution
  • Supports Engineering of product build and test on the Pilot Production Line
  • Coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field Application Engineering to inspect and approve Engineering Sample Certificates prior to shipments
  • Supports Engineering and Operations in the product reliability testing and evaluation as required
  • Document defects found during quality inspections, process audits, and other related activities utilizing AEye internal NCMR process
  • Supports MRB activities. Implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant materials
  • Understands root cause investigation process and able to initiate routine problem-solving investigations
  • Compiles quality and manufacturing test data to assist in the analysis of process capability studies and yield calculation
  • Assists in the root cause analysis and generates corrective action plans as well as quality improvement initiatives
  • Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Works within guidelines and policies
  • Has the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and proposes solutions for improvement
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Essential Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years in Manufacturing, Quality Operations functions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing production process from Engineering prototype to mass production
  • Able to learn the product and process quickly and assess defects that can impact product quality
  • Experience with QC audits for pilot manufacturing and production lines
  • Knowledgeable of quality improvement tools and strong statistical and problem solving capability
  • A team player with strong communication skills. Must have a sense of urgency. A self-starter who can independently prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the automotive industry a plus
  • Working experience in Semiconductor Fab Process/Optics/Laser/PCBA/System Integration
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding start-up experience

Qualifications:

AS Degree in Engineering or other related field
