About Coda

Coda is a new doc for teams. We're a growing startup looking to hire the next set of great Codans!

Job Description

Coda is a rapidly growing startup that’s reinventing the doc. It’s crazy to us that documents and spreadsheets have been running the world for the last 40 years, but haven’t meaningfully changed to meet the needs of the modern workforce. Coda is an entirely new experience that feels familiar, but is as elegant and powerful as any app.
We're backed by some of the Valley's leading venture capitalists, and have assembled a world-class team across offices in San Francisco, Mountain View, and Seattle, and remote employees all over the US.
About the role:
We’re looking to build out Coda’s support team with a Community Manager! In this role, you’ll be strategically tackling growth and engagement opportunities to expand our community of extremely talented makers. You’ll also be hopping into public topics ranging from getting started to highly technical questions from our top makers while representing Coda’s brand and values.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for technology and is an avid user of tools like Coda, Notion, or Excel. They will need to be able to get inside the mind of a diverse set of Coda users and be comfortable building docs and solving problems for many scenarios. The ideal candidate should be able to break down content at multiple altitudes. You should be a great listener, an astute observer of user behavior, and be able to spot patterns quickly.
What you’ll be working on:

  • Develop the community strategy to scale its reach by strategically generating engagement initiatives, programs, and events
  • Lead our volunteer-based Community Champions to encourage continued engagement, exploring retention options at scale
  • Participate in conversation on the Coda Community to facilitate and unblock the creation of great docs
  • Expand on and collect user feedback; work with product teams to synthesize community trends
  • Inspire consistent Coda employee participation on the forum and through events

Things you're skilled in:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Sheets, SQL, or other spreadsheet/database tools used to structure data
  • Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics on platforms such as Discourse
  • Track record of building useful tools, either for your own productivity or for the needs of your team
  • Proven work experience as a Community Manager or similar role
