Job Description
As the Research Analyst for Velo3D, you will arm executives with data for market insights, decision-making, and business strategy. You will demonstrate strong analytic skills and be comfortable collecting, analyzing, and presenting data in various environments and formats. You will be a strategic partner to the CEO, CMO, CFO, and the VP of Sales, delving into various projects, such as identifying the Total Addressable Market (TAM) for Velo3D’s target industries and metal parts. You will also help identify new territories for expansion and be responsible for providing the data needed for critical business decisions. To be successful in this role, you should be entrepreneurial in spirit, comfortable with ambiguity, have exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to confidently articulate findings and make recommendations to senior executives. This position requires a keen interest in supply chain operations, manufacturing processes, and supply chain optimization.
What will you do?
- Identify the Total Addressable Market (TAM) for Velo3D’s target industries and metal parts
- Play a key role in identifying, developing, and supporting the rollout of new business markets, segments, and opportunities
- Provide timely and actionable research findings and insights to Velo3D’s senior management team for decision making and to aid in accelerating revenue, company brand equity, and profitability
- Provide the data needed for critical business decisions as needed
What do you bring to the table?
- You are quantitative, analytical, logical, and good at managing numbers and data
- Analytical thinker who enjoys working deeply with data to uncover insights
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and visualization (SQL, statistical modeling, Tableau, etc.) to solve complex business problems
- Interest in manufacturing and supply chain (experience preferred but not required)
- Detail-oriented, with excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholders at all levels
- Strong business acumen and with the ability to apply context to sanity-check numbers
- Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated effective listening and communication skills with the ability to synthesize data
- Ability to communicate clearly and make recommendations based on insights collected
Qualifications
- MBA graduate with an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering
- Three years experience in mechanical engineering is a strong plus

- Strong understanding of primary and secondary market research methodologies, techniques, tools and processes and working knowledge of advanced statistical applications, i.e., SPSS
