The mission for the Director, People & Culture Business Partners is to ensure people & culture business partnership efforts, talent management and organization development strategies are well aligned with the needs of our varied and growing business functions. This role will report to the VP, People & Culture.

The person in this role will work closely with the VP and stakeholders across the business to design and plan Curology-wide talent and organization development strategies, and lead the People & Culture Business Partner team in adapting and executing department-level Business Partner support relevant to the specific needs of each team. This is a role that will require a hands-on, problem solving approach to business partnership as well as strategic thinking and familiarity with research-backed, data-driven approaches.

Key elements of the role

        Oversee People & Culture Business Partner and employee relations approaches, aligning to business strategy and objectives, values and guiding beliefs.
        Work with stakeholders to design and adapt growth and performance strategies and tools, both at the organization and department levels.
        Collaborate with business and people & culture stakeholders to innovate on our existing processes and systems across performance management, talent review, onboarding and more areas.
        Coach and support business stakeholders and business partner team in solving for both short- and long-term people-related issues, including organizational design and change management.
        Interact with employees at all levels and contribute to further developing Curology’s supportive and team-first culture.
        Guide alignment of leadership and manager development approaches and programs.
        Guide, mentor and develop a high performing, proactive Business Partnership team and continue to scale based on strategic business objectives.
        Coach and counsel employees on a wide range of HR related business topics including performance management, policy-related issues, compensation and talent development.
        Work closely and collaborate with Curology’s VP, People & Culture to develop and drive organization-wide talent management strategies (including learning and development, succession planning, leadership development, talent strategy and planning and other related initiatives.)

Outcomes

        Drive alignment with organizational stakeholders on people and culture related issues, approaches and initiatives, acting as a true collaborative partner.
        Influence and guide Business Partner team with a consultative approach to business partnership.
        Lead design and execution of data-driven approaches to talent and performance management, tailored to the needs of our varied departments.
        Ensure that the organization evolves to best support our strategic goals.
        As the leader for the Business Partner team, ensure consistent and accurate messages are delivered.
        Design and lead creative and industry-leading approaches to individual and team development.
        Drive talent strategies that engage and develop our best leaders and team members as we continue to grow.
        Build relationships across the business ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of changes that impact their teams.

Competencies and Requirements

        Strong business partner background driving: business results, organizational design and effectiveness, performance management, leadership development and coaching, and learning and development programs and initiatives.
        Exceptional track record of leading and mentoring a high performing team.
        Ability to scale with both strategic and hands on aptitude, with deep experience in mid-sized growth companies.
        Data-driven decision maker and pragmatic problem solver who can find root causes of issues and gain leadership support to address them.
        Proven ability to manage priorities among multiple stakeholders and multitask or  re-prioritize as needed in a high-velocity environment.
        Successful track record scaling mid or later stage, venture-backed startups.
        Experience with Organization Development and Design.
        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
        Bachelor’s degree (or relevant experience).
        Experience with management consulting a plus.
