THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Bring a growth mindset and data and hypothesis driven approach to every interaction; curious to learn, always listening, and driven by solving complex problems
  • Drive the full lifecycle of a your product areas— from identifying the problem, prioritizing needs based on opportunity and potential value, defining user stories all the way to thinking about the release and development cycle, customer rollouts, iterations, and maintenance considerations
  • Define feature goals and success metrics and deliver crisp product requirements and acceptance criteria for our design team, developers and QA team members to succeed.
  • Actively participate in development cycle with our onshore and off-shore engineering and QA team to ship smooth high-quality releases that drive value for our customers
  • Inspire and educate designers and engineers with thought-provoking objectives and customer-centric use cases
  • Assist with preparation of internal communication for product releases to enable internal stakeholders on new and upcoming features
  • Be a product expert that is comfortable presenting the value proposition of the product and its features to audiences of all sizes (from customer meetings with executives all the way to individual contributors)

COMING IN

  • 5+ years of experience building and delivering successful products and features from inception, launch and iteration 
  • With 3+ years of experience in high growth SaaS required
  • Must have experience working on shipping product with external users 
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills to make data driven decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (we demo and write a lot...)
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent experience (MS or MBA is a plus)
  • Strong decision making skills and a proven record of establishing credibility, managing relationships and influencing others to get high quality results in functional and cross-functional teams
  • Entrepreneurial spirit - you are a self-starter who takes initiative, while always guided by a strong one-team mindset
  • Experience working in a fast paced startup environment owning execution

 

WITHIN ONE MONTH YOU’LL

  • Attend a new-hire immersion training to build a deep understanding of our buyers, their pain points, our solution offering, and learn what it means to build an elegant Strategy & Results platform.
  • Learn the personas we cater to and our product strategy for their success
  • Sit in on 4 sales demos and prospect calls
  • Participate in at least 4 OKR Workshops with our Client Services team and shadow field teams on client engagements
  • Have read all of our key user and market communications and be a daily user of WorkBoard yourself
  • Be able to articulate the value, benefits and relevance of our platform easily and effectively
  • Closely follow a feature that is under development cycle and contribute to feature reviews, internal communications and enablement tools on it
  • Get your hands dirty fast and early by researching and learning all use cases and user needs of at least one roadmap item, and define the requirements of the feature with the team’s help.

WITHIN THREE MONTHS YOU’LL

  • Have a deep understanding of the problem space we are building the platform for, and how are various offerings are interconnected to provide a comprehensive business solution
  • Research and learn about the competitive landscape and our differentiation, and learn about our top customers and their in depth use cases
  • Ramp up your WorkBoard product knowledge by building expertise and becoming our product Guru for 3 of our product areas you will drive
  • Learn our user engagement and product performance analytics for these 3 product areas better than anyone
  • Gather requirements, plan and implement your first set of features in the development cycle with product design and engineering team, and take ownership of their successful delivery
  • Own efforts to ensure our product knowledge documentation and repository can address the demands of our growing team

WITHIN SIX MONTHS YOU’LL

  • Drive feature prioritization decisions with an eye on key metrics and a comprehensive understanding of our product offering, and our short and long term product strategy, and contribute to its evolution
  • Be responsible for regularly delivering crisp requirements and working closely with product design and engineering teams to develop and deploy new and improved features
  • Conduct full user feedback sessions & validate requirements and prototypes with key customers
  • Work with cross-functional growth, customer success and services teams to create product messaging that drives product adoption and customer re-engagement
  • Contribute blog posts which surface valuable information about product developments and progress
  • Seek, explore and recommend solutions to improve how we work and what we build

 

WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU’LL

  • Continuously analyze product performance and develop product strategies we can test to drive feature prioritization and new areas of investment
  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for areas of WorkBoard’s product offering
  • Maintain knowledge of WorkBoard’s product offering, data, and best practices and teach them to new members of the team.
  • Be the product partner for managing key customer relationships with our customer success and client services team
  • Mentor new team members and help us grow the team!

As a Product Manager at WorkBoard you would be part of our vibrant and passionate product team, with a can-do attitude working to solve our customers’ most pressing needs to drive alignment and accountability at scale. 

On a typical day you’ll spend time working with our customers, founders and cross-functional field teams in sales, customer success and strategic services and growth to learn and absorb the most important problems we need to solve, and then dive in and work with design and engineering to drive prioritization and the development of solutions and capabilities that will delight, inspire and empower thousands of people.
