Role Purpose:
Greensill is currently looking to appoint a VP of Distribution to work in our Shenzhen office to focus on onshore bank investors.
The candidate will be required to develop the China onshore investor marketplace for investing in Supply Chain Financing (SCF) /Accounts Receivable (AR) / other structured trade assets which Greensill originates in China
Primary Accountabilities:
- Primary focus for this role is to develop Greensill’s distribution capabilities and build our reputation with onshore bank investors in China by working with the existing Asia Distribution team to manage existing bank relationships of Greensill in China and also to bring on board new investor banks
- Work closely with the origination team to structure deals for optimal distribution
- Leverage own network within the China bank market
- Manage investor onboarding and keep all transactions on track
- Work with bank investors and third parties to mediate on our legal documents to ensure effective and timely onboarding
- Support development of broader investor and funding base for Greensill’s operations in Asia, including:
- Work as part of a broader team in launching new local funding structures tailored to local investor requirements including the issuance of asset-backed securities in China and the establishment of local funds and potentially asset warehouses
- Assisting with distribution to bank market in the wider Asia region
- Travel across China with additional international travel where relevant
- Work with other regions and divisions to ensure we are delivering consistent service to our investors and Greensill has a global harmonised market approach
Skills and Abilities:
- 10+ years within China banking or fixed income markets
- Deep existing network of contacts in the Chinese bank market
- Good understanding of the Trade Finance (SCF and AR) product, and how the Trade Finance departments of banks work
- Basic understanding of syndication / sale of trade assets (some understanding of assignment / funded participation concepts)
- Proven track record of execution in marketing solutions to banks
- Familiarity with Chinese regulations (in particular CSRC, SAFE, CBRC, AMAC) affecting banking
- Ability to identify the critical path for success and bring a very focused approach to ensuring optimal execution
- Proven ability to work in a diverse, high performing team with ability to work in a multicultural environment across multiple time zones
- Entrepreneurial mindset coupled with focus on detail and structure
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Native in Mandarin and strong English proficiency in speaking and writing for business purposes
