JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Department: Medical
 
Qualifications: Must be a board certified Practical Nurse with one year experience in Nursing. Must know how to provide nursing services for patients in the clinic. Must also know how to follow instructions given by supervisor. Must be familiar with an Electronic Health Record System. Contacts: Frequent and continuous contact with Patients, Director of Operations, Physicians/Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Lab Technician. General Summary: Under immediate clinical supervision of the Nurse Practitioner, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for nursing care of patients and carrying out physician’s or nurse practitioner’s orders on patients in the clinic. Should have some clinical laboratory experience. Prefer LPN with experience in working with a medical records system. Must be consistent and reliable. Medical terminology, computer and insurance knowledge also preferred. Responsible For: Having basic willingness to support the clinic functions and demonstrate a desire to be involved in the direct patient services. Duties include: direct patient care activities (i.e. vital signs, patient history, processing of consent forms, and assisting physician/nurse practitioner in direct patient care functions). Other duties include: Scheduling referrals, phone triage, and patient education. Assists in the maintenance of equipment and securing of supplies. Must be able to adjust schedule (work location) as needed based on staffing patterns and needs of FHCC. Accuracy: Exceptionally high level of accuracy. Physical Demands: Task requires continuous physical effort in the worker is walking and standing most of the day. May be required to staff another location, or work in multiple sites.
 
Emotional Demands: Emotional stress may occur from time to time.
