What's Our Technology challenge?

We are doing a major overhaul of our systems so we can sustain the explosive growth of our customer base. Having used off the shelf products we are at a stage where we must create our own software, and with nearly 2 million customers to keep happy it's a super interesting problem to solve. After raising $80 million in a Series A round of funding FabFItFun is making significant investments in its product to ensure it stays at the forefront of subscription services. We’re facing many exciting scaling challenges and we’re building a robust platform where your expertise can be applied to areas such as billing, payments, subscription services, security, operability and observability to name a few.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be writing code day to day
  • Shipping to production multiple times a day.
  • Owning what you create, you design and build the product you will support the product.
  • Responsible for delivering to production, no hand offs to an ops team.
  • Mentor team members and be mentored, we share our knowledge.
  • By working through consensus, take part in an architecture guild and submit requests for changes to improve or change our architecture, processes and tech stack.
  • Joining an office that is growing, currently 12 staff, in Dublin and is the cornerstone of future engineering of the company.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Will be able to build software end to end, whether its frontend, backend or the glue that holds it all together. Whatever is required to solve the problem. You possibly specialise in one thing and know many things well.
  • Will pair and mob program. Collaboration and communication is key, and it's not just with other engineers it's with product managers, user experience and leadership.
  • Will take pride in software engineering. We want you to bring your best every day and it should show up in design, security, the developer experience, operations and monitoring.
  • Will have the ability to look at the problem first and the solution last. We spend a lot of time trying to understand what needs to be done.
  • Will have knowledge and skills on cloud computing and microservices.
  • Will know one language well, it does not have to be a language we currently use, we mostly use Java on backend, Javascript (currently React) on the frontend and as well as a number of projects in python and golang.
  • Will handle Infrastructure as code, contributing to making our infrastructure fully automated, simple, reliable, and easy to operate.

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of PHP is a bonus for interacting with legacy code base. In particular for contributing changes to integrate new systems into the existing code base
  • Our cloud provider is AWS , we run Kubernetes , knowing either is a plus but not a requirement.

What You’ll Get:

  • Competitive salary, equity incentives and an amazing benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and pension
  • The opportunity to work in a collaborative environment full of bright, driven, and happy people
  • Be a part of one of the fastest growing companies in the US that is revolutionizing eCommerce
  • Open/Flexible PTO policy - we trust our employees to manage their time!
  • Free FabFitFun subscription and quarterly credit in the Add-Ons store
  • Monthly cell phone reimbursement
  • Monthly work from home stipend while the company is temporarily remote
