Job Description
Stripe makes it easy for anyone on the internet to access the global financial system. This team builds the automated systems that allow us to provision our infrastructure to support our international business needs, while simultaneously empowering Stripe engineers to do their work quickly and safely. This role will give you the opportunity and responsibility to guide Stripe’s approach to the cloud.
We’re looking for a manager to lead this team in building simple, safe, usable and useful provisioning abstractions over the cloud, who will also guide our ambition to build something exceptional.
You will:
- Work with engineers and other leaders at Stripe to design and maintain our cloud infrastructure
- Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity
- Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team
- Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have managed teams that developed and operated critical infrastructure, particularly in the cloud infrastructure and provisioning domain
- Thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility
- Are comfortable working with geographically distributed teams
- Have a strong quantitative and analytical background
- Have successfully recruited and built great teams
- Have clear and persuasive communication, in writing and in person
- Are excited to collaborate with teammates across engineering to provide a wonderful user experience
- Have familiarity with AWS, Terraform, Puppet, or Kubernetes
