The role:

Striim is hiring a hands-on Customer Engineer who is passionate about enabling customers to create value from their data. You will work closely with every team at Striim, from marketing and sales to engineering in order to research, scope, design, and implement cloud integration solutions.

In collaboration with the partner technology team, you will leverage partnerships to drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers. You will be the primary technical contact through the entire pre sales cycle - ensuring our customers have the best possible first touch with Striim.

Responsibilities:

In a forward deployed role, manage and provide software and systems integration support during the sales process by designing and implementing applications on the Striim Platform.

Work directly with customers to gather an understanding of their IT architecture and system, understand the technical requirements of the project and execute the validation of Striim through proof of concepts.

Help demonstrate and communicate the value of Striim to prospective Partners and Customers.

Document the end-to-end technical process, contributing to an internal knowledge base for other teams to replicate cloud migrations.

Develop knowledge and capacity to test and integrate the Striim Platform with a variety of Enterprise Data Platforms, Systems and Architecture including: SQL, RDBMS, Data Warehouses, Kafka, cloud computing services, Linux/Unix, Data Security/Masking.

Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of enterprise IT architecture and systems, cloud computing services, Big Data platforms, Business Intelligence software, ETL Platforms, Kafka, Traditional SQL and NoSQL RDBMS, Data Replication solutions.

Participate in requirement analysis/product capability assessments with prospects.

 

Skills we like:

    Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in related discipline. Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
    3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer/Application Developer working with big data (i.e. data engineering) with either data warehouse or data pipeline proficiency
        Languages: SQL and Java
    2+ years’ experience with providing Systems or Software Support to End-Users
    Deep understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, Google BigQuery, Snowflake and others
    Experience with Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP, and Snowflake
    Experience working with cloud security - key management, how to configure a proxy, implement a VPN tunnel, etc.
    Knowledge of Big Data Platforms such as Apache Hadoop, Cloudera, Hortonworks or MapR
    Experience working with Message Systems such as Kafka and JMS
    Exceptional presentation and communications capabilities. Confidence presenting to a highly skilled and experienced audience, including enterprise architects and C-level executives
    Able to articulate complicated technical concepts to customers with a wide range technical backgrounds
    Ability to quickly solve technical and business-related challenges
    Team-oriented and possess strong collaboration skills
    Passionate commitment to quality and success
    Ability to travel occasionally to meet with potential customers
