Our partners are automakers, governments, mobile operators, developers, advertisers, as well as enterprises large and small.

Job Description

INRIX is a leading provider of predictive and historical traffic information, connected car services and analytics worldwide. We power traffic displays and navigation for some of the biggest automotive, public sector, and enterprise companies, and support customers in more than 65 countries around the world.  Our vision is simple – to solve traffic problems, empower drivers, inform planning and enhance commerce.

The Speed Calculation team at INRIX is aggressively driving innovation, design, implementation and deployment of large scale batch and real-time streaming data pipelines. We’re working on cutting-edge technology stacks to create a high-end traffic data platform. These pipelines process billions of points of data to create predictions of traffic flow and congestion on millions of miles of roads around the world and enable data analysis of historical trips and flow for a variety of purposes.  You will have a strategic role participating in decisions that will shape INRIX's capabilities and the future technical direction of our products.

Who we are looking for:

  • Senior Software Engineer with 5 or more years of experience in production level software development, architecture and design.
  • Solid skills developing in Java and some T-SQL/Athena and Python familiarity. Experience with Scala and/or C# is a plus.
  • Experience designing, implementing and deploying services that deploy, operate, scale and run reliably and efficiently. Plan to tell us about your experience with well-structured and modular software.
  • Experience maintaining and extending applications and services through their lifetime
  • Ability to understand and implement complex algorithms
  • Experience with, or interest in, machine learning
  • Sensitivity to performance and scalability, working with big data in both off-line and real-time processes
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows. You will also be working with technologies such as Apache Kafka or Kinesis, Spark, and AWS technologies such as EMR, Athena, Data Pipeline, and S3.
  • A collaborative team player. Our team is at the center point of many different products and offerings and we collaborate with most other engineering and data science teams in the company.
  • Bachelor or advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, or related discipline

 What you’re looking for:

  • Solve complex problems to develop software which give people back time and reduces their transportation frustration, saves money, and makes the world a better place
  • A chance to work in a dynamic, heterogeneous environment. Learn new technologies and hone skills to create scalable, highly performant services.
  • Be part of a highly-collaborative team where fun, smart, passionate, ambitious engineers work together to build great systems
  • A small but fast paced global company where you’ll be challenged to think about things that no one has thought of yet and do more than just implement this or that widget.
  • A position where you’re an important voice in the direction of developing great products and tools

Why you should make the move:

  • Great Benefits – We’re as good as, or better than, most companies our size. We even pay 100% of our employees’ medical, dental, vision, and disability premiums.
  • Bonuses and Stock – Because you like to be rewarded and recognized for your hard work.
  • Open Ended Vacation Policy – You’re an adult and can manage your own vacation time. Work hard; play hard, and don’t bother counting the days.
  • Lots of free food – We have free onsite snacks and drinks; Friday family style lunches, and stocked fridges with lunch items for everyday!
  • INRIX Boat – Get your boat license and we’ll pay for the gas. You can walk from your office to the dock in 15 minutes. Take your family and friends skiing or tubing. Yes, it’s big and it’s fast!
  • Free Parking - We have free parking in our covered garage and enough of it to go around.
  • Free Bus Pass - If you don't have a car to park.
  • Free car – Well not really free... but we have a couple new test cars with the latest traffic technology that you can take home. We pay for the gas or electricity.
  • Electric Vehicle Charger onsite
  • Family– We don’t believe that you should miss your child’s play because you have to attend a meeting. The CEO even sends a handwritten card and gift to your child on their special day. How many CEO’s do that?
