Job Description
We are looking for a passionate Developer Advocate to lead community outreach and to spread the word about using Pulumi to program in the cloud. You will be a part of realizing a vision where every developer can program the cloud.
In this role, you will communicate Pulumi's unique and innovative worldview and approach to the world of developers, and create flagship examples to feature in talks, blogs, social media, and community opportunities.
This role spans our entire open source platform, across many clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes), languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go), and scenarios (containers, serverless, and infrastructure). We can safely guarantee that you will always be learning something new!
In addition to connecting with the community, you will also work closely with the product team to ensure that the needs of the community are always served by our product roadmap and capabilities.

In This Job You Will:
- Define developer narratives, doing online and in-person outreach.
- Create momentum and drive the success of Pulumi’s open platform, through personal knowledge and community presence.
- Advocate Pulumi products in-person and online by presenting at conferences, blogging, using social media, creating videos, writing technical tutorials and other similar activities.
- Advocate for your community internally, and influence the direction of Pulumi’s platform and product roadmap.
- Build and foster an external community ecosystem of influencers, meetups, and experts to amplify and extend our reach.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Have:
- Experience in one or more of the following: Go, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#.
- Publicly advocate around managed cloud and/or SaaS products.
- Are seasoned in speaking at technology conferences, blogging/writing technical articles, and/or contributing to a popular open source project.
- Experience in one or more of the following systems: Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Azure, Chef, Puppet.
- Interest in advocating on behalf of technology communities and comfort working with those communities to solve their problems using Pulumi technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the desire to share technical knowledge and information with others.
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
