About GALY

GALY is an early stage startup company. We are engineering cotton in labs, rather than farming. Currently, it’s spent 20,000 liters of water per 1 kg of cotton produced and 16% of all the pesticides in the planet are used for cotton production, so we believe there is a better way.

We want to do for textiles the same as Memphis Meat and Impossible Foods are doing for meat.
We are developing a way to grow cotton by the multiplication of its cells directly into the cotton fiber (cutting all the steps of traditional cotton plantation). We believe this is a more sustainable, faster and cost-effective way of doing it.

With 60% of the cotton market currently consumed by the textiles industry this is our first market target, but we may have different markets to explore.

Currently in stealth mode and recently backed by lead biotech investors, GALY has the vision of transforming our currently industry.
