Who we're looking for
- PhD in synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry with 5+ years drug discovery or medicinal chemistry experience
- Strong record of productivity as demonstrated by publications.
- Expertise in synthetic organic chemistry
- Chemistry team leadership experience advancing hits to leads and candidate status.
- An understanding of drug design principles, DMPK, tox, etc.
- Experience mentoring other chemists.
Responsibilities
- Undertake data analysis to assess the results of experiments and the characteristics of the molecules produced
- Ensure the structure and purity of compounds are correct
- Write up experiments accurately
- Work closely with other scientific colleagues across different disciplines
- Use computational techniques to model the properties of new molecules
- Explore how it may be possible to 'scale up' production of useful compounds that are created
- Keep up to date with scientific literature
