Job Description

THE COMPANY: 

Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing solutions at the intersection of clinical-grade wearables, machine learning algorithms, and lifesaving therapies in order to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease, primarily as they transition from the hospital-to-home. By putting the needs of patients and physicians first, our personalized digital devices, which are designed for function, comfort, and ease-of-use, aim to redefine the paradigm of care for these patients.  Our first product, a wearable patch defibrillator, is initially targeted at treating the more than 500,000 patients in the US with an elevated temporary risk of potentially experiencing a lethal heart rhythm.  Based in San Francisco, our funders include Third Rock Ventures, Google Ventures, Deerfield Healthcare, Qiming Venture Partners USA, Cormorant Asset Management, and Invus Opportunities.

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Element Science, a cutting-edge start-up in the medical device industry, is revolutionizing the wearable defibrillator market. As we prepare to launch our groundbreaking product into the commercial space, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our team as Territory Manager. 

The Territory Manager is responsible for sales planning and execution, providing technical and clinical expertise and coordination of educational support to ensure the safe adoption and growth of the Element Science Jewel wearable cardioverter defibrillator. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Optimize sales and profitability of the Jewel product across targeted markets. 
  • Develops sales contacts and extends marketing reach by attending local, regional, and national trade shows/conferences. 
  • Drive sales growth through the strategic development and utilization of diverse sales channels. 
  • Achievement of sales quotas and key performance indicators. 
  • Establishes industry networks to enhance business presence and brand visibility. 
  • Maintains and develops client contacts at all levels within customer organizations and clinics. 
  • Develops clear, achievable strategies, objectives, and tactical plans grounded in segmentation, customer-centricity/needs, and market dynamics. 
  • Deliver clear and succinct feedback to operational partners to enhance the customer experience. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. 
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience with cardiology and/or electrophysiology call points.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify customer’s needs and to deliver or adjust expectations. 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to establish new market strategies to achieve sales quotas. 
  • Strong foundational sales skills. 
  • Ability to navigate complex IDN and hospital networks. 
  • Must possess a reliable automobile for work-related travel. 
  • Clean driving record with valid state driver’s license. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time, including overnight stays, evenings, and weekends, as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee will sit for long periods of time during travel.
  • The employee must be able to take call during evening and weekends for patient fittings.
  • The employee will walk frequently within hospital facilities.
  • The employee will be required to crouch, kneel, stoop, balance, and reach.
  • The employee shall be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, near and far vision, and depth perception.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.

  • Salary Range: $95,000 - $104,000 + Uncapped Commission Plan + Stock Options
