SUMMARY OF ROLE:
We are seeking a Field Clinical Representative (FCR) based in San Francisco, CA to join our growing medical technology company. As we launch our groundbreaking product into the commercial space, we are looking for Field Clinical Representatives who will be responsible for fitting and training patients. As the product expert, the Field Clinical Representative will offer on-site assistance and troubleshooting support to healthcare providers and patients, addressing any issues or concerns with the company’s products. They will act as the liaison between the end user and the company.
The FCR will work closely with a Territory Manager and the Field Clinical Operations Manager to build and nurture relationships with HCPs and hospital stakeholders to expand market share within their territory. The FCR must be able to successfully maneuver in hospitals and physician offices due to working with numerous clients and patients in different clinical settings. The FCR may make infrequent fittings to patients' homes. The ideal candidate will have experience with cardiovascular Class III medical devices, excellent people skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a can-do attitude as well as a passion for working with a cutting-edge, life-saving product.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train, fit, and register patients while following the product instructions for use (IFU) and field personnel training guide.
- Collaborate through effective channels of communication with Sales/Territory Manager, FCR Team Lead, and other regional FCRs to maximize coverage efficiency.
- Assist Reimbursement Specialists with obtaining documentation required for insurance approval.
- Support physician intake and onboarding process.
- Provide in-depth training sessions and in-service to HCPs and medical staff on the use, application, and benefits of the Element Science device.
- Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Sales to identify and resolve account barriers for eligible patients and market expansion.
- Expand market share by developing strong and productive professional relationships with existing and new HCPs in assigned accounts.
- Regularly, timely, and accurately maintain the customer relationship management (CRM) system with records of interactions, training sessions, and customer feedback.
- Support patients through the duration of their prescriptions with interim support visits, PA re-fittings, technical product troubleshooting, and retrieving therapy reports as needed.

- Respond to customer needs and complaints with a sense of urgency regarding products and service issues by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel to develop optimal solutions (e.g., sales, marketing, clinical operations, customer service, etc.).
- Work cross-functionally and provide regular feedback on product performance issues, user feedback, and opportunities for enhancements to departments such as reimbursement, customer service, engineering, and clinical field operations in support of continuous improvements on product and process development.
- Track and manage inventory with Element Science devices.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, local regulations, ICH guidelines, and GCP guidelines.
- Participate in and/or complete other activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of clinical work experience and 2+ years of sales or field representative experience in health care preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, science or related field is preferred.
- Cardiovascular training and industry experience with Class III medical devices is required.
- Strong communication, organization, and writing skills; and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Able to troubleshoot and think creatively under pressure.
- Familiar with software databases such as Electronic Data Capture systems, CRM, MS office, Salesforce, Concur, or Netsuite.
- Familiar with sales processes.
- Must be able to drive within assigned territory.
- Must have valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy.
- Able to travel frequently outside of region as needed, with occasional overnight trips.
- Must have flexibility to respond to emergent events within hours.
- Ability to effectively use a mobile phone, PC, keyboard, and mouse.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee will sit for long periods of time during travel.
- The employee must be able to take call during evening and weekends for patient fittings.
- The employee will walk frequently within hospital facilities.
- The employee will be required to crouch, kneel, stoop, balance, and reach.
- The employee shall be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, near and far vision, and depth perception.
The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Stock Options
