About us: Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing solutions at the intersection of clinical-grade wearables, machine learning algorithms, and lifesaving therapies in order to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease, primarily as they transition from the hospital-to-home. By putting the needs of patients and physicians first, our personalized digital devices, which are designed for function, comfort, and ease-of-use, aim to redefine the paradigm of care for these patients.  Our first product, a wearable patch defibrillator, is initially targeted at treating the more than 500,000 patients in the US with an elevated temporary risk of potentially experiencing a lethal heart rhythm.  Based in San Francisco, our funders include Third Rock Ventures, Google Ventures, Deerfield Healthcare, Qiming Venture Partners USA, Cormorant Asset Management, and Invus Opportunities.

People Operations Specialist II 

Element Science is looking for a great team player to join our amazing team as People Operations Specialist II. As a People Operations Specialist II, you’ll play a critical role in supporting and optimizing the people operations function within Element Science. You’ll be responsible for handling various aspects of HR and employee lifecycle management, ensuring the smooth running of HR processes, and providing exceptional support to both employees and managers. This role requires a deep understanding of crafting employee experience, HR policies and procedures, exceptional attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

As People Operations Specialist II, you’ll have a hand in any and everything related to HR, which means no day is ever the same, and you get to work on many different projects simultaneously.  If you enjoy variety in your day and have what it takes to be great at the job, we want you on our team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the onboarding process, including preparing new hire packages, handling paperwork during orientation, and scheduling onboarding meetings.
  • Maintain digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and other employee and consultant records.
  • Assist in the preparation and updating of job descriptions.
  • Assist with the full life cycle recruitment from sourcing to screening to closing.
  • HR Systems and data management: generate HR reports and analytics to support decision making. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within HR systems.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and practices. Participate in resolving employee-level workplace issues.
  • Manage the off-boarding process, including preparing off-boarding process, handling paperwork, and scheduling off-boarding meetings.
  • Act as primary liaison with temporary service providers; coordinate temporary staffing levels and temporary in partnership with the Management team.
  • Coordinate the employee leave of absence process.
  • Coordinate Workers' Compensation claims as a liaison between employees, healthcare providers, and carriers. Conduct accident investigations and prepare reports for management and the insurance carrier.
  • Assist in the research, review, development, and implementation of personnel policies, procedures, and other employee communication.
  • Stay up to date with personnel-related postings and trends including legal development to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with various administrative HR-related tasks, including but not limited to employment verifications, directing employee inquiries to the appropriate channels, and assisting the HR Manager with other HR tasks.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the scope of assigned areas and participate in improvement projects within HR.
  • Assist with employee engagement and recognition events.
  • Other HR-related duties as assigned by the HR management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 years of HR or people operations roles and/or recruiting experience.
  • Experience as an administrator for systems (HRIS, ATS) and data analytics for surveys and reporting
  • Adaptable to changes in a demanding work environment. Ability to identify and take advantage of opportunities, organize, and prioritize several ongoing and frequently changing assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Can-do mentality and readiness to go above and beyond to provide exceptional service to managers/employees.
  • Remarkable attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated team player; gives and welcomes feedback.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit; able to contribute to positive morale and help focus on group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone’s efforts to succeed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), TriNet or other PEO systems, ATS (Greenhouse or other ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and Visio.
  • Bonus Points--Have Technical sourcing/recruiting experience.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

  • The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.
  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000
