About the Software Applications Engineer III opportunity:



Motricity is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to become a part of our global development team. The individual will be expected to make significant contributions to our Software Engineering team, through the design and delivery of complex solutions in support of the business and our global customer base. Candidates must possess the ability to work in an ambiguous environment, and must be able to interpret and integrate solutions in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Develops code across a variety of platforms, undertaking design, development, documentation, testing and subsequent ongoing support of new and existing features. Typically works on loosely define peripheral features. Code is to be developed to exacting quality standards, on time, every time. Adheres to agreed engineering standards, processes and programs.

2. Translate of business requirements into design while adhering to Motricity’s solution architecture.

3. Writes technical specifications and solution design documentation. Delegates technical requirements and tasks to 3rd party vendors to ensure integrity of the software solution.

4. Executes peer review of designs and implementations across teams and 3rd party vendors. Mentors junior and 3rd party vendor software engineers.

5. Interfaces with Sales Engineering, Project Management, Software QA Engineers and Operations on a regular basis.



REQUIREMENTS:



Functional/Technical Skills:



Required

· Solid understanding of Software Engineering, Software Engineering Methodologies.

· Adheres to agreed engineering standards, processes and programs

· Works successfully cross-functionally across the Quality, Engineering, Operations, and

Production teams in resolution of problems

· Demonstrate a high level of accountability, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to manage

workload and achieve results.

· Review, analyze, and evaluate client traffic through the gateway.

· Have excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.

· Document processes in the Wiki for overall company benefit.

· Experience and knowledge of SCRUM or other Agile processes.

· Experience in developing mobile technologies.





Education & Experience



Education: Bachelor of Science in related engineering or computer science discipline or equivalent experience OR a masters degree and a minimum of one year of experience.



Experience: 5-8 years of experience; usage of data modeling tools, design patterns, UML and OO design methodologies. Experience of web systems and components; web servers, application servers, databases, transactional systems, content management systems, operating systems, .NET, C#, ASP.NET, XHTML, WML, HTML, XML and SOAP.



Knowledge: Solid knowledge of software engineering concepts and procedures. Proven knowledge of Internet communication protocols, of mobile telecommunications content technologies (Messaging, WAP, other)



Skills: Undertakes detailed design and development work; excellent communication and organization skills; strong problem solving skills
