Description
Fate’s Technology Development Group is currently seeking a talented cell biologist to support
novel stem cell technology programs. The successful candidate will develop and optimize
mammalian cell culture systems and explore novel approaches for stem cell generation and
manipulation. This program will require extensive knowledge of cell culture techniques with an
emphasis on stem cells including media and condition optimization, transfection, viral infection,
Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) and immunocytochemistry. A background in
induced pluripotent stem cells or cellular differentiation is highly desirable. Additionally,
experience in molecular biology and biochemistry including cloning, QPCR analysis, antibodydependent
detection methods and an understanding of genetic and proteomic analysis is
advantageous. This is a hands-on position that requires research and development for multiple
projects and potentially management of research associates.
Requirements
• Ph.D in cell biology, molecular biology or biochemistry.
• 5 years cell biology research experience.
• Extensive experience in stem cell biology evidenced by recent publications in the field of
ESC or IPSC technology.
• Extensive experience with biochemical and cell based assays.
• Experience with budgets, developing and implementing cost-saving measures.
• Flexible and cooperative spirit with strong commitment to team efforts.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
