Athletes' Performance, led by founder and president Mark Verstegen, has gained a reputation as the industry leader in providing integrated performance services for the top athletes in the world. At its facilities in Tempe, AZ, Carson, CA (at the Home Depot National Training Center), and Las Vegas, NV, Athletes' Performance's integrated team of specialists focus on providing performance training, performance physical therapy, and nutrition services to help athletes ethically improve performance, decrease injury potential, and gain motivation through education. In the last year alone, Athletes' Performance has trained 8 NFL first-round picks, 9 NBA first-round picks, World Cup heroes (US Women's Soccer and German Men's Soccer), and hosts of All-Stars across every major sport.

Hours
This is an unpaid academic internship. Hours are flexible, but usually assistants work 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM 5-6 days per week. Start and end dates are flexible but generally follow a semester schedule (Spring, Summer, Fall). This can vary depending on projects that are underway.



Overview
At Athletes' Performance you will find all kinds of exciting opportunities in a highly dynamic environment. Depending on your area of interest you will assist in analyzing diets, analyzing blood work, and performaing research trials and nutrition consultations. You will be educated on a variety of topics and will be expected to educate others on a variety of topics once you complete an assignment. Daily maintenance tasks will include taking out the garbage, cleaning up assigned areas, assisting in the preparation and delivery of the nutrition supplementation program and setting up equipment for testing or training purposes. Expect to be challenged intellectually in individual and group settings. Debates within group meetings are common.


Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in an acredited University program

Strong interest in performance nutrition/research
* Nutrition/Research related experience preferred
* Superior work ethic and a desire to learn
* Analytical approach
* Must be certified in First Aid/CPR for the duration of the internship term
