Job Description:
Reporting to the Director, User Experience (Product Management, User Experience and Creative), the Sr. User Experience Designer must be a fast learner who understands the importance of collaboration and can distill highly complex issues into easy-to-understand design requirements. The position requires expert design skills as they apply to information architecture, user workflow, usability, and website/web app interaction. Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of interaction design principles and best practices, with a strong understanding of how visual and interaction design work together to create a user experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Employ user-centered design practices to create world-class interactive web experiences
* Define, develop, and document all front-end design requirements for projects impacting both domestic and international brands
* Develop detailed wireframes, flowcharts, mockups, and other product deliverables to effectively communicate designs and product requirements
* Serve as the business lead for front-end product decisions
* Work closely with engineering and QA during the development process
* Write easy-to-read and comprehensive documentation
* Conduct user research such as usability studies, paper prototype studies, ethnographic field studies, and surveys
* Design and analyze AB tests
* Take ownership of project ROI and success metrics
* Work with cross-functional teams (customer service, marketing, merchandising, engineering, QA, etc.) to find balanced solutions to complex user, business and technical challenges
* Work with the Creative design department to develop and maintain site branding and visual design
* Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary products/experiences and bring new ideas to the team

REQUIREMENTS:

* 6+ years experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, user interface designer, or similar role
* 2+ years experience in web-based e-Commerce user experiences
* Outstanding communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills
* Experience conducting qualitative user research. Experience in more methodologies beyond usability studies a plus.
* Results-driven, able to initiate and lead projects
* Must have strong analytical skills and be able to understand and appropriately apply both qualitative and quantitative data in design and business problem-solving
* Must be well-versed in user research practices and understand how they are best used within a fast-paced environment
* The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in a dynamic environment
* Must have outstanding attention to detail
* Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science or related field. Masters' degree preferred.
* Solid familiarity with HTML, CSS, AJAX, Flash
* Rapid prototyping skills, web application experience, and experience developing UI's for international websites are a plus
* A strong portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience and relevant, user-centered designs
