| Description: | Organization Information MesoCoat, Inc is the technology leader in high durability coatings to prevent wear and corrosion. The company has developed a proprietary line of nanocomposite metal and cermet coatings and claddings. Our aim is to become a dominant supplier of metallic coatings and claddings. MesoCoat is a wholly owned subsidiary of Powdermet, Inc., and was formed in 2007 to commercialize and further develop its line of proprietary nanocomposite coating materials and fusion application technologies. The Company is initially focusing on selected niches in the aerospace and oilfield service industries to be followed by introduction into broader markets of oil and gas pipelines, pulp and paper, hazmat storage and transportation, automotive, and mining and mineral processing , addressing the needs of OEM manufacturers and maintenance and repair organizations (MRO’s). Product Lines • MesoCoat’s PComP™ coatings provide superior metal wear and corrosion performance compared to hazardous chrome plating and have a significant cost advantage versus High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) carbide coatings which are currently the most popular alternatives to chrome. • MesoCoat’s CermaClad™ specialized coatings provide exceptional levels of wear and corrosion resistance for large area (> 10ft 2 ) applications, such as gas and oil pipelines; large chemical process equipment, including tanker railcars; and, concrete reinforcing re-bar and bridge structures at a fraction of the cost of competing weld overlay coatings. • MesoCoat’s breakthrough FARCoat™ Focused Arc Radiant Coating process and equipment enable the cost effective application of coatings to high strength steel at production line speeds. This high speed process integrates with existing steel production assembly lines and replaces the slow and high cost plating or cladding currently performed in separate assembly lines or even facilities. Responsibilities The General Manager, PComP will work with the Chief Executive Officer to commercialize, manufacture, market and sell an innovative coating technology that offers multiple industries an alternative to environmentally toxic hard chrome. MesoCoat seeks an experienced executive to provide leadership and execution of the business strategy to broadly leverage its intellectual property, market leadership, proprietary assets and technology. The General Manager, PComP will lead marketing and operational efforts providing insight and decisiveness. He/she will insure optimal positioning, branding, distribution and customer satisfaction. The General Manager, PComP will be based in Cleveland, Ohio and will be a member of the senior management team. The primary responsibilities will be to: • Assume full P&L responsibility for the business line and drive all measurable results on behalf of the company while reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). • Manage sales, engineering/product development and sourcing. • Continue to build capacity and sales for PComP™. • Serve as primary liaison with suppliers to assure timely delivery, uniform high quality and establish an effective collaboration toward achieving MesoCoat sales goals. Key Accomplishments Within first 12 months: • Assume P&L responsibility for the pComp™ product line and establish performance metrics for direct reports and suppliers. • Achieve qualification for PcomP™ with vendors toward realizing first-year minimum revenue of $300,000. • Support CEO in establishing strategic business relationships, adapting production processes to meet customer needs and developing a market entry strategy. • Compose and deploy an effective business development plan, optimizing manufacturing, product evolution, pricing, sales channel(s) and promotion. | ||||||
| Qualifications: | Candidate Qualifications and Characteristics She/he will provide leadership to the organization, but will also be a key driver to both sales and product development to ensure the pComp™ team is focused on the greatest overall opportunities. Additionally the General Manager, PComP will: • be a highly credible, experienced executive with a track record in the early-stage development and market entry for an innovative industrial product line; • deep knowledge of aerospace and/or oil field equipment industries; • have a demonstrated background in successfully bringing a new product to market launch, ensuring market adoption and ultimately securing market leadership status; • have a proven track record of working effectively with his/her colleagues and be a highly disciplined communicator with customers, the CEO, suppliers and employees; • be an entrepreneur. An entrepreneurial attitude is essential. We seek a calculated risk-taker, a leader with courage, and an individual who is experienced at developing collaborative relationships; • hold a bachelor degree (REQUIRED) in a technical field, preferably in engineering or materials science; • be a strong manager able to make difficult decisions, but with a willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment to reach consensus, • and have significant experience managing change and creatively charting a successful product development and market entry plans.
