Software QA Engineer – Healthcare Solutions
Quality Assurance Engineer responsible for creating and implementing testing across multiple components in an open, extensible framework for application deployment and management that will support a wide variety of clients, servers and devices over a broad range of network environments. The QA Engineer will design, document and implement test plans for new and existing projects, report and manage defects, regress software fixes for new and existing products, assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop test automation solutions as needed. The successful candidate will possess strong technical and programming/test automation skills, have experience testing enterprise-class system software packages and will have a working familiarity with MS Windows.
Specific Duties Include:
• Design, develop and implement comprehensive QA test plans and test cases, tools and infrastructure for assigned areas.
• Run regression tests; perform both white and black box testing against releases.
• Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, regression, and system testing.
• Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing.
• Work with other members of the QA team to improve our processes, tools, methods, effectiveness and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years cumulative experience developing or testing commercial PC software with 2 years experience testing system software.
• A strong technical background coupled with in-depth experience testing or developing software for Microsoft Windows operating systems. Knowledge of operating systems and SQL,
• Extensive background in QA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for system software.
• Possesses strong technical and programming/test automation skill as demonstrated by 2 plus years development of complex automation infrastructure and test cases with industry standard products: C++, VB, VT, etc. Experience with Quick Test Pro is a plus.
• Database or SQL experience is a must
• Experience with application servers is a plus
• Ability to troubleshoot software / hardware configuration problems
• Demonstrated ability to handle/organize multiple complex technical projects simultaneously.
• Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
