| Description: | Overview: The NOC operations engineer will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting M5 Network devices, system components and connectivity. The network operations center will be staffed to provide 24x7 operations to M5 Customers. The operations engineer must be capable of performing without direct management oversight to monitor and respond to technical issues, discrepancies, or outages expertly and in a timely manner. The network systems operations engineer will have primary responsibility to monitor all carriers' connectivity, ensure that all systems remain functional and online. Monitor, investigate and report any call completion issues, work with carriers and engineering on resolving them. This entails monitoring automated systems that track the health and status of calls. He or she will have responsibility conduct maintenance activities in a timely manner to maximize operational availability of all systems. These maintenance activities include Cisco IOS, DS3, T1, and execution of component diagnostics, replacement of failed components within the NOC/Colo facility. And finally constantly update clients and send notification during outages. Responsibilities: Network Operations engineer must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. He or she must also be able monitor and respond appropriately to automated systems that track the health and status of calls and associated network equipments. Effective communications, interpersonal skills, and customer focus required. Must be willing to work in 24/7 operations environment. Qualifications: Prefer Bachelors Degree in information systems, computer science or similar technology discipline but can substitute demonstrable equivalent certifications or experienceand typically 3 or more years' related work experience Cisco CCNA is required. Cisco CCNP is preferred. | ||||||
