Position Overview: Calix is seeking a VP, Information Technology to join our senior leadership team. The VP, Information Technology will provide strategic and operational direction to support the business needs of a growing multi-national organization. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership for an IT team responsible for driving the company toward the top of the technology curve by delivering innovative, creative, cost effective and cutting edge technology solutions. This role will partner closely with business leaders to align information technology with corporate and divisional goals. This position will report directly to the EVP and Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities: * Develop strategic partnerships with business leaders to strategize, define, and ensure effective implementation of IT solutions. * Ability to apply strong business justification, financial impact assessment and ROI analysis. * Prioritize, oversee, and manage a portfolio of IT projects in support of business goals and corporate strategies. Ensure delivery of projects within determined time and budgetary constraints. * Develop a strategic IT plan and an annual plan defining IT services that are aligned with business needs. * Regularly evaluate existing technology and information systems, research new solutions, and recommend appropriate changes to best support the company goals. Remain current with relevant emerging technology trends and incorporate into significant strategic technology decisions. * Engage and partner with division leaders to ensure awareness and IT priority alignment at all levels across the company. Effectively communicate strategy to the Company. * Develop and lead a high-quality team of IT professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration and support through coaching. Successfully translate business requirements into team deliverables, individual goals, and objectives. * Take a leadership role in developing and enforcing Sarbanes-Oxley and appropriate IT controls. Qualifications: * 20 or more years experience leading a strategic IT department * Willingness to get hands dirty and operate at a tactical level, while still operating as a visionary leader * Experience in an emerging technology industry * Experience with global operations * Proven ability to lead cross-functionally as well as build a high-performing team * Skilled in technology integration and partnership development * ERP, SFA, CRM and hardware and software development tools experience required, Oracle, Salesforce.com and IBM rational tools experience a plus * Experience with application system analysis and implementation * Strong knowledge of business systems and SOX compliance * Experience and strong knowledge of business process and business process reengineering * Experience with operating budgets and capital budgets and ability to implement short- and long-range financial plans for information technology * Demonstrated business savvy in effectively communicating and working with others across the organization in support of achieving business and technology goals * Strong interpersonal, project management, and resource allocation skills * Merger, acquisition and consolidation experience a plus * B.S. required; M.S. preferred The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who is passionate about telecom and datacom and desires a role to assist in moving a growing global company forward with IT infrastructure. This position requires an ability to quickly understand new technologies and be able to determine value and relevance. The successful candidate must be able to evangelize and influence key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that plans are globally understood and executed.
